Review summary

If the guests had better manners it would have been perfect, but not much I can do about rude people. Staff on the ship was awesome and food was good too. Would recommend this itinerary.

Embarkation

Got on earlier than expected. Had FTTF but everyone was in early. We were relaxing and had drinks by 11:15. Bags and room was ready so fast, as was the others in our party that didn’t even have FTTF.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had great experiences this cruise with all the food. My parents loved the lido buffets and we had good food in the main dining room. We didn’t do a specialty restaurant but guys burgers were great, breakfast and room service were very good. Loved the lido marketplace deli.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots to do! Spent way too much on bingo and imax, but it’s so great! The sky ride is awesome but usually a long line, it is free however! Pools were usually full and most chairs were hogged, but I like walking around or hanging on my balcony.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We didn’t get to see a show but all the music was great everywhere we went.

Service and Staff

Very good!

Ship Quality

Same design as most carnival ships, but well taken care of.

Cabin / Stateroom

No noise from anything nearby. Great views! We booked this to be close to the casino, just down a few stairs. Everything else is a little walk, but we didn’t mind.

Ship tip

Push the elevator floor you want.. make sure you do it once for EACH person in your party.. they have directions but people don’t always follow them.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

La Romana, Dominican Republic

We did the Animal Encounter and Azul Blue Hole. The animal encounter was just a parrot and a monkey, and some iguanas.. I was hoping for more native animals. The blue hole was beautiful, but VERY crowded in the water. The jungle walk to the blue hole was good, not really a good area to change, but I think most people plan on walking back wet.

Oranjestad, Aruba

My favorite excursion so far in all my 5 cruises. We did the UTV to Natural Pool and Arikok Nat Park. We booked thru Carinal, but the tour is operated by Fofoti tours and transfers. Julissa, Dolpi and Milton are so awesome! The water was rough so we could not get in at the natural pool, but they gave us a longer ride and still stopped at a local spot to get in the water. BEAUTIFUL views and so much fun!

Willemstad, Curacao

Beautiful city. Lots to see right off the ship. We didn’t book an excursion but walked around and enjoyed the views.

Grand Turk Island

Been there before but the locals keep getting worse about nagging you to pay for the carnival free chairs. Not sure if carnival can do anything about it but I will definitely mention it in my review to them. Otherwise we loved the water, was a little cool but after you are in for a short time, it’s great!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Got off earlier than expected. We checked our bags, so it took a little bit to get them.. but if we had carried them we would have been off the ship and thru customs by 730am. We did have FTTF but they offer early disembarkation to anyone carrying their own bags off.

Great review, glad you enjoyed your cruise and didn't let the other cruisers spoil your trip. Thanks for info on the elevators going on her in May.

I could not agree more with people needing better manners. That's not just for cruises either. People nowadays have little regard for those around them. We always try to put other people before us and think about how our actions will affect them.
