I have a great time on all cruises but this was one of the best. Beautiful ship. Great food. I truly do not enjoy the food much on Carnival, but I did on the Horizon.
Embarkation

Embarkation was fast and smooth. We were on the ship in the 11:00 hour. The made an announcement that everyone could board very early.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

We loved the food on the Horizon. We do not hit the buffet often but there are several stations with the same food so there was never a big crowd. Food in the MDR was great, as well as the service. We do anytime dining and never waited. On this cruise, you requested a table on the Hub app.
We did three specialty restaurants and they were all great. The steak house was top notch. JiJi’s and Cucino del Capitano were excellent. Service in all three was fantastic.
We play lots of trivia so it was great to see the light breakfast and lunch at 5 aft where most trivia was played.
Onboard Activities

So much to always do. We did not get to go to the pools, hot tubs, or fitness center because we were always busy with other things but they all looked inviting.
The Arcade was a great size with lots of games.
My husband loved loved IMax and thrill theaters.
Entertainment

Celestial Strings was amazing, Hasbro is always fun. All shows and musicians were awesome. Cookie as cruise director was very entertaining. He was ill the last two days and was on voice rest. Calvin, the entertainment director filled in and was hilarious. Gerry on the fun squad was the best, so much fun!
Comedy (when we could get in) was excellent.
Children's Programs

You cannot keep my grandkids out of camp. They love it. The camp and Dr Seuss bookville are really attractive for kids.
Service and Staff

Everyone works so hard. Our room steward, Kadek, was the best! Waiters, bartenders are all nice. We did occasionally run into some staff who seemed disgruntled. Mostly when walking around Lido for beverages.
Very strange on this ship was the fact that they seemed to hide whole fruit. I looked for bananas one morning and asked an employee on Lido where they were. He told me to wait and came back with two. I asked him where they were, thinking I missed them, and he told me not to worry about it. What? My daughter asked for oranges, apples and bananas for her children and was told that there were none. She insisted and an employee brought them to her. Had to do that every day. On debarkation morning, there were plenty of overripe bananas sitting out on the Lido.
Ship Quality

I loved everything about the ship other than the “smart” elevators. We used them according to the instructions (touch deck desired as many times as there are people) and we waited 10-15 minutes way too many times. We took the stairs as often as possible but when traveling more than 5 decks, stairs are not feasible for us.
As on all other ships, the comedy lounge is too small.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our first time in a deluxe ocean view. LOVED IT! We were just above ocean level and watching the water was awesome. The window was a great place to display all our towel animal friends
LOVE! Took a bus tour from the sellers at the port. For $25 apiece, we saw the entire island. Had stops at a rock formation that you could climb, the aloe factory (with tour included), lighthouse and beach. Beautiful, pristine waters here. Lots of beaches that we passed but did not stop at, were all gorgeous. Not enough time at this port. Left at 3:30. Need to go back.
Beautiful! Love the colorful buildings. Took the trolley tour and learned the history of Curacao. Trolley was so much fun. We stopped at a lovely Catholic church to take pictures. Shopped around in town. Got to see the swing bridge in action and a ferry cross.
Came back out in the evening to shop and walk around the port and see the beautiful Horizon all lit up.
I would love to come back here.
This was my fifth time here and have been around the island. We had plans here, but were having so much fun on the ship that we did not get off in this port.
Disembarkation was super easy. We stayed on the ship as late as possible since we had an afternoon flight. We debarked at 10 am. Calvin constantly announced that we were ahead of schedule debarking and that is was going smoothly.
