Review summary

Great 8 day cruise. A must do if you enjoy Carnival. Best ship we’ve been on in my10 cruises. We already booked 2020.

Embarkation

Ours was fantastic. We actually were checked in at the shuttle at the airport. From there we went to the port and was surprised that we were able to get on earlier than our boarding pass due to the airport checkin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Main dining room food was much better than previous cruises. We did anytime dining and never waited more than 15 minutes to be seated. The food and service was excellent.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

Amazing food from appetizers to the desert. A wonderful dining experience. The Horizon also had the piano bar playing some easy listening to enhance the experience. It was a nice touch.

Onboard Activities

Lido pool reviews. Pool too small. Not enough chairs so get your spot early. People reserve chairs early. The sky ride is cool. Be ready for a long line We never made it to the IMAX theater but they had first run movies playing.

Did not have any bad experience with the staff. We had one guy who remembered our drink of choice and folio numbers at the pool. He was super friendly. Same with our wait staff in the main dining room or any of the specialty restaurants. Mike the Cruise Director was the best of any ship we were on. He made it a point to talk to as many people as possible. I don’t know when he slept.

Ship Quality

Very clean. It will take a day to learn the ship design. Lots of areas for you to get away for some peace and quiet if you wanted to. Elevators took some getting used to.

Cabin / Stateroom

I’m officially spoiled. What a great room. Great views of all the ports. Plenty of room. Balcony was worth every penny.
