Too many added cost. This is my 3rd cruise. You already pay a large amount to cruise, you also pay a price for excursions. Why should you have to pay more for additional entertainment on the ship. When you the Drive in movie playing on deck, it would be nice if you can also have it playing on your TV in the room for FREE. Have FREE movies playing on the IMAX. Fix your elevators!!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarking was busy, packet, however was easy to get through.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining was ok. Food was lukewarm. Specialty restaurant was good, but cost extra.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Activities were good, and as long as you engaged with the activities, you had fun.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Stage shows and DJ was good.. However the nightclub was horrible. It's packed, the bar is located in the middle of the way, and they put a table of cups next to seating, and then tell people they can sit in that area. Move the bar to a more convent location within the nightclub.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
I don't have young children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was very nice. I've always had a good experience with staff.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Design, as stated above nightclub could be better. The elevators are poorly designed. The areas were always clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was good
Ship tip
The elevators suck, be prepaired to be disappointed on day one when it comes to getting around, unless you take the stairs.
I did get off, walked to Sr. Frogs. had a great time. Only point I would make, it have more information available so we know what is available if we don't want to buy an excursion.
We never purchase anything on board other than a drink or two and have a great time without any “extras”. We usually book excursions independently of the ship and have them planned well before we arrive. There are plenty of websites to research things to do in each port for little or no cost. If you want everything included without additional charges, check Oceania, Regent, Crystal, Symphony or Viking. Just be prepared to pay 3 - 5 times what Carnival charges.
Not sure your point on more information. There's plenty of information on Ship Mate and on the internet so you can plan prior to sailing if you decide not to do an excursion.
