Embarkation

Embarkation went smooth and very fast. We arrived at the terminal at our scheduled time and we never had to wait in a line. Flawless

The main dining room was amazing!!! We had dinner there every night. The food was always perfect and delicious. Our wait staff was the best!! The Team Headwaiter Joel, Team Waiter Efrain Alfredo and Assistant Team Waitress Kanjanee are the best of the best... providing my family & I top notch service!
The buffet areas were always clean and tidy. The food was good and always fresh. Lots of variety available. I really like how the Marketplace on the Horizon is much larger than on other Carnival ships. There’s lots of seating and there are 2 buffet areas that serve the same food options. So lines were not long. Of course, Guy’s Burger and the Blue Iguana never disappoints!
We had Sushi at Bonsai for lunch one day and OMG..... it was THE.BEST.SUSHI.EVER!!!
Onboard Activities

Pools, slides, Sky Bike and IMAX were a few that we took advantage of and were great! Horizon has so many options for onboard activities. We would love to have been able to have taken advantage of them all. There is truly something for everybody.
Entertainment

The Stage shows onboard the Horizon are amazing. I have to say it’s like being at a mini broadway performance.
Our cruise director, Mike was the best by far... hands down. He brings energy and enthusiasm that I have never experienced before in a cruise. He is the definition of the perfect cruise director! Mike definitely makes your vacation full of fun and excitement. There is never a dull moment.
Children's Programs

We were traveling with my 3 year old niece. She loved Camp Ocean so much that she would beg her mom to take her everyday!
Service and Staff

Our wait staff was the best!!! Team Headwaiter Joel, Team Waiter Efrain Alfredo and Asst. Team Waitress Kanjanee are the perfect wait staff. They pay so much attention to detail. They take time to get to know each & every person in your group. They know what you like & dislike... even my 3 year old niece. Joel would pick a smoothie to surprise my 2 teen daughters with every night and he nailed it every time! This team is so on point, professional and personable.
Our room steward, Oswald.... everyone needs an Oswald everyday! He came to our state room on the first day to introduce himself and to get to know us. He asked us when WE wanted our room serviced, how frequently and what we expected from him. Oswald always made sure we had clean, fresh towels and sheets. I am a very organized person and can’t stand when things are a mess or out of place but when you have 4 people in one room (2 being teenagers) it is impossible to stay tidy. Oswald took care of it!!!
Ship Quality

Every part of the ship was always clean.
One thing I really have to point out that I love as a non-smoker... the casino (which is also a smoking area) was enclosed by a glass wall so there was never the smell of smoke all over the ship. With that being said... there were other designated smoking areas around the lido deck and other parts of the ship but never was there an unpleasant experience.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was always clean as well as the balcony area. The beds were comfortable. However, I do think this cabin is slightly smaller than other balcony rooms we have stayed in.
We chose the late disembarkation. We spent our morning having a relaxed breakfast on the lido deck while we waited our turn to disembark. We were not in any hurry to leave this ship.
