Review summary

Next cruise, we will fly in day of. This ship is huge, something for everybody. We had a wonderful vacation and will probably not go on any other ship unless we want a different itinerary.

Embarkation

Get Faster to the fun, if you can. We didn’t stop moving from the minute we left our room until we got on deck. Only complaint I had was we ended up waiting a bit for our cabin and luggage. Not a big deal but if theirs going to sell something as a perk, you should get it.

Only available food from 11pm-7am was pizza unless you paid room service. I ended up taking stuff to my room for later! We’re early (5:30) risers so the night before we ordered bagels and cereal brought to our rooms.

Spent most of our time on Serenity deck (salads up there were phenomenal) and deck 12 all kinds of activities and the water park that was adult friendly!

More like a luxury hotel than a cruise. None of the gaudy colors. Understated elegance throughout the ship.

Ship tip

Don’t bother with the drink package, not worth it. You have to go to the bar to get it (in a glass of ice usually so you really only get half) and the bar is way busy. Take a 12 pack of cans per person instead.

This will be our 4th cruise with Carnival , have read so many good reviews on the Horizon , thanks to everyone for the informative reviews , we have booked Mardi gras for next year , we really enjoy cruising with Carnival , seems like to us more bang for your buck
