It was amazing. Pete Manley at did a great job. The staff on Horizon was amazing. I think the best part were the dinners we had on each of the reservation only restaurants. The Steak House and the Japanese Restaurant were the best.
Carnival Horizon Cruise Review to Caribbean - Southern
If you like to cruise, this is the ship for you. Please consider the Spa or Havana packages because the experience is 5 Stars. Don't forget to book your dining experiences ahead of time if you have specific dinner times you want. It is worth it to have a balcony room because it is so relaxing to sit on them and enjoy a private view of the ocean and ports. The port side is best because on our trip (8 days) gave us an Island side view at each port of call.

We never ate in the dining rooms because the specialty restaurants were so good, we couldn't get enough of their service, food, atmosphere, and perfect staff! Book early!!!!

The shows and comedy clubs were way better than our last crew. Being on a bigger ship helped because the large amount of customers allowed Carnival to book the best entertainment.

Service and Staff

We did not see a sad face from any of the staff the whole trip. It was obvious that Carnival takes their staff seriously and trains them well. I can't tell you how many times a staff member remembered our name as we passed by their stations after only one introduction. It sounds funny, but they were so kind, while saying our goodbyes my wife and I and even some of the staff had wet eyes and positive emotions. I don't know how the staff can be so attentive with new customers boarding every week. Once again, this must be a reflection of the way Carnival treats and trains their employees.
Ship Quality

The ship was clean would be an understatement. I did not see one example of any staff member that didn't do their best to maintain a clean section. The ship even had wipes and baskets on each side of all bathrooms so you didn't even had to touch a handle after washing your hands. It was a new ship but I only found one thing broken, a self serve wine dispenser, and I reported it and it was fixed the next morning. It was a beautiful ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

Wow! What can I say. Make sure you book a suite. We were first off the ship at each port and first on. It only took 15 minutes to board and get to our room. We sat on our oversized deck enjoying the view for 3 hours that normally would have been in a long line and the lobbies waiting for our room to get done on past experiences. Spa Suites are the best. Our room was amazing and bigger than we expected.
Ship tip
My only pet peeve. You have to get up at 7 AM to reserve a chair and then sit in it to hold it on travel days. I learned that the Havana suites have their own private deck.
We took a bus to an amazing beach. All the beaches are filled with soft sand and clear waters. They only get 20 inches of rain a year so I hear you never have a bad tour day on Aruba.
