Review summary

All in all this cruise was a good experience. The ports were nice ones to visit and the ship was cool. We bought the drink package and it was not worth it to us so that was a HUGE bummer. Especially because a lot of our frustration with the package only happened because the staff was giving us wrong information about what we could and would not get. It also felt like the whole time we were on board, we were being sold to. I understand they want to make money but I just shelled out a lot of money on the cruise and I don't really wanna have things being sold to me EVERYWHERE I went. I wish more of the things on board were included in the price and in the future, we will probably look for a more inclusive cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkation was very simple and smooth. We had time slots of when to show up and al-in-all it only took about 15 minutes from when we arrived to when we were on the ship. I was very impressed with this aspect of it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The specialty restaurants had really good food. The only downside was that you had to pay for them all. All of the included food tasted okay, nothing amazing but not terrible. We paid for the drink package as well and found it not to be worth it.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were only two pools on board and both of them were small. We never got in one because of the size of the pools and how packed they were. They hot tubs were also almost always full. We did go on a sky ride that was really fun and we saw a comedy show and a musical performance. The events we went to were nice but there were not a ton of events we were super excited to go to.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We saw a comedy show and watched one of the musical performances. They were both pretty good and entertaining.

Children's Programs

We do not have children.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most of the staff was great to deal with. One of our biggest frustrations though was that we bought the drink package and found out on the second to last day that the whole time we should have been able to get water and coffee without having to wait 5 minutes in between drinks. The staff was not informed about the policy and it made our experience worse because of it.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship we went on was very new. The ship had some cool features but didn't really have a wow factor. The layout of the ship also made it feel very closed in. We have been on other ships that were much more open and it was a better ship experience. There was nothing wrong with this ship, it just didn't wow me.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was excellent. The bathroom did not make me feel claustrophobic and it was very clean. It was a well designed layout for the room, the only downside was how dark it was, I would have liked nightlights or the ability to leave the boat cameras on on our TV so that we could know when the sunrise had happened and what it looked like on deck.

Ship tip

Definitely get the app. It was nice to be able to have all the events in my hand and infomration about the ports too.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
This was a standard debarkation port, we did not do any excursions here.

Grand Turk Island

4 out of 5
We went on a snorkeling excursion that was really cool. We also had lunch on the beach. It had a decent variety of excursions but the island itself was pretty small.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
This port seemed to have a lot of cool things to do but after we had to be back on the boat. We visited a fort and had a roof top dinner and it was cool to walk the streets and shops. Not a ton of planned excursions available but it was a good port none the less.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
We stayed at a resort for the day which was absolutely beautiful! We walked some of the shops as well before getting back on board, but because our day was mostly at the resort, we did not experience the 'touristy' aspect of this port.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

3 out of 5
We went to a beach on this port. We did not go to the French side of the island but the beach we were on was nice.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
The disembarkation was smooth. We were given information two days prior to leaving the ship and the morning of it was just a waiting game for our bags to be ready. Once our number was called we were off the ship and through customs within about 20 minutes.

We had the bubbles package & it really wasn't worth it... Next time we will just bring a case of soda...

I agree about the drink package. We looked at it because my wife and I are huge coffee drinkers but that's not included in the bubbles package. We were shocked at the nearly $1K price tag. I mean I drink but I don't think I can drink THAT much, and my wife doesn't drink at all. Plus, our 4 port days are all back to back, we wont even be on the ship much to use it except for evenings.

The drink package is so overpriced in my opinion. You get lots of options, but you have to have a drink of some sort in your hand virtually all the time.
