We had a great time even though there were some snags on this cruise. I would definitely cruise on the Carnival Horizon again.

The main dining room was a great both times we ate there and seaday brunch was fabulous. The lido buffet for breakfast was the same item repeated every morning ugh. For lunch and dinner some items were excellent while others just gross. My kids enjoyed the free Mongolian wok at lunch and we did eat at Cucina del Capitano for lunch on day as well which was excellent.

I went there for the free lunch and everyone at the table enjoyed their meal I do wish the ceaser salad dressing tasted more like ceaser dressing and would like some garlic bread instead of the bread they served but otherwise great.

Onboard Activities

Son enjoyed the water park and pool on the first day. All the children enjoyed the sports square everyday. We also took advantage of the put put course and the bean bag toss as family activity. My older girls used the open air gym a few times and I took advantage of the sky Trac every morning as the sun was coming over the horizon.

I spent some time in the casion with the husband this area is small and stinks of stale cigarettes. We perfered the casino on the victory.

We did not have any stage shows for this sailing some type of problem with the group that performs these type of shows. Mike Pack and the DJ's we're excellent and they kept the level of fun at a maximum.

Hours of operation never worked with when I needed son to be in the kid's club. My teenage girls said it was boring and that if they needed a quite place to sit then that is were they went, otherwise they never went to club O2.

On every carnival Cruise I have been on the crew usually knew my name by the second day. I found that this was not the case on this ship. My room was cleaned daily but I never seen my room steward. Occasionally I would pass an assistant in the hallway. Wait staff was friendly but not fast salads took over 30 minutes to brought to the table. An wait staff on the lido deck was excellent as was Cheryl and the other crew.member working the omelette station.

The layout of the ship was fine I would forget the aft of deck 3 was blocked by the galley for the dining rooms. Cleaniness in most common areas was good but the was times when our hallway look pretty rough. One night I went to bed and someone had dropped there hot dog and fries on the floor which was still there when I woke up in the morning.
Cabin / Stateroom

There were several problems with this room when first got this cabin. The curtains had a broken hook allowing sun light in. The cabinet for the fridge was missing a screw and would bang around if the kids didn't close properly. There were small holes in the black out curtains allowing sun in to the cabin. The handle to the balcony door was broken and would stick in the open position and would bang around if kids didn't push the handle back up. The back of the key reader was taped on with clear packing tape but they did fix this at some point on our cruise. The beds we're comfortable even the couch and overhead bed the kids said we're comfortable. Room was small but we made it work with 4 of us. The fridge does not get items cold ask for a bucket of ice you will need it. The room was cleaned well everyday.
Ship tip
Bring motion sickness pills this ship can rock even in calm seas. Also allow yourself a few extra minutes to get to where your going the smart elevators are slow and you can wait up to 4-5 minutes for a car to arrive
The porter implied that if I didn't leave a tip something might happen to my luggage. Husband tipped the porter only because the others were very pleasant.
Long Walk down pier was hard for a member of our group. The constant hounding to by something from the people selling in the port area made my daughter's nervous. There were so many they felt overwhelmed and at one point scared.
We enjoyed this port transportation was easy to find but was expensive as we have 7 in our party. We went swimming at Calico Jack's bus ride was $48 one way
This port was clean. Took a bus to Me Sancho's and had great food and drinks. The water was beautiful and the kids tired their selves out on the aqua park. Shopping was excellent.
We were self carry and at no point did they say that self carry could disembark when ever they were ready we had waited for hours for them to call our deck number, otherwise the process was fast and easy.
