Great time on a beautiful ship! I'm afraid other smaller ships will be judged by this amazing experience!
Embarkation

The NYC port was easy to access. We took a Yankee Trails Cruise bus and it went right to the port. Very easy on!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was as expected. The main dining room didn't have the Pizzazz we are used to with Carnival. I missed the waiters songs. The new specialty restaurants were great! Pig and Anchor is a great hang out place. The food is fabulous. We did the Bonsai Tepanyaki one night and it was really good.

Entertainment
5 out of 5
I'm a little partial to the entertainment because we are musicians, and my son is a drummer on the ship! The Crushed Velvet band was so good! The shows were extremely well done and the talent is amazing!
The DJ was awesome as well.
Children's Programs

My niece had her 3 yr old onboard and they loved all the Dr. Seuss activities. The water park is so good for younger kids. The older kids (teens) were a bit of a problem in some areas of the ship. I think Carnival should do more to police the disrespectful kids on board - mainly by making the parents take responsibility. This would easily be accomplished by turning off the parent's sail and sign card at the second offense.
Service and Staff

Carnival has the best staff! Our room steward I Dewa was very good and attentive. The bartenders and other staff were very good - always recognizing by name.
Ship Quality

I loved the design of the ship. The Cuban theme was carried out through most of the ship, and I liked the ease of the layout. Because it was such a big ship, we did get turned around a couple times, but mostly it was easy to navigate.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a Havana Balcony and it was perfect! The added bonus of the Havana pool and bar area during the day was a Godsend! We even went up to the Serenity deck one morning, and quickly turned around because it was so packed. Having the Havana section was like a private island. I think I may be spoiled now on other ships that may not offer this section.
Ship tip
Book the Havana section. Even an inside, with the benefit of the private area is a great idea. It's a big ship, and the pools and hot tubs fill up fast. The Havana section gives you privacy and room to breathe!
We did a private fishing excursion with Backwater Tarpon. My son is an avid fisherman, and it was exciting to catch one of these beautiful huge fish with the first line out!!
This port was ok. We didn't stay at the resort area because it was very crowded. I think if Carnival owns the island, you should be able to use your Cheers! package at least for some discounted drinks. We didn't stay long.
I love your proposal for control of the unruly kids but what can we do about the unruly/rude adults? Thanks for the review. Cruising b2b out of Miami on the 20th and 22nd.
