Review summary

Train staff on all disabilities. The staff really tried to embarrass my family by asking "what is your disability."

Service and Staff

During the safety breifing. One of the staff was extremely disrespectful to my family and I. They said "everyone with a disability should leave first. We got up to leave and he said where are you going. What is your disability. I said my son has autism & ADHD and he can't be around crowds. He said well does your whole family have to go. Why would we have to explain my son disability to him in front of a large room full of people. There are invisible disabilities and the staff should be trained on how to talk to people and educated on different disabilities.

Ship Quality

The staff tried extremely hard to clean up after everyone.

On the sunshine it was done to me! We were in the morning show and the cruise director was on stage with microphone and he asked me why do I not have tennis balls on my walker and I said I didn’t think about it , and then the big question over the microphone “so why are you on a walker “into the microphone and there was about 50 to 75 people there for the morning, now all eyes on me, ! I was embarrassed and very mad at that moment ,I did not answered the question ! It did not ruin my cruise I was more in shock that someone would ask that and I got over it! I’m Ready for my next cruise ! Sometimes people don’t realize there saying something they shouldn’t, no biggie !

I seriously doubt that they were trying to embarrass you

I got adhd add I think everyone has some form of it but I understand where you are coming from but you should have before hand informed the crew so this would have not have happen I agree with the other comments.

You have the option of informing them before you cruise so that they can accommodate you appropriately.

Did you note his disability when you booked the tour? We didn't cruise with Carnival, but Norwegian was fantastic and knew us by name the moment we boarded.

Unfortunately a lot of selfish people try to fake being disabled so they can be in the front/get what they want quicker. And if it wasn't something visible they were probably just being sceptical about it.

Is it possible that they were asking so they could serve you better? If it was something they couldn’t see, they may have felt they didn’t know what would be the best way to make your cruise experience batter? Or how to assist you? It’s always been my experience that Carnival staff go above and beyond to serve their guests. We cruised with my friend who was in a wheelchair at the time and they were extremely helpful.
