Overall, the cruise was not very relaxing. We tried hard to enjoy ourselves, but it was difficult.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
One of the best embarkation because of our suite status - we would gone straight through but my husband was detained by the drug dog and handlers because of his prescription medications.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Overall, the food was very mediocre. I've traveled on a lot of cruises and this ship had the worst food, the worst waitstaff, and buffet cleanliness. The restaurant setting was terrible - we had a table for two but the tables were arranged close together to promote conversation with other tables which we did not want.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
There were few unique activities. The days consisted mainly of bingo and trivial contests. The customer ran to get off at each stop.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Very limited. The same two or three musical acts rotated performances in the main lobby area. The disco was almost non-existent and the DJ's were very poor. The best showings were on Motown night.
Children's Programs
No children in our party. However, there were a large number of children on board and they were running wild throughout the ship with no parental guidance.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
As stated before, this was a rough ship. It was the first sailing for a lot of the staff and it showed in their attitudes and performance. Buffet tables had to be self-bussed because the area was understaffed and the staff was tired and just getting by.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
For the most part, the ship was as clean as it could get. There were nasty passengers who left trash (empty milk containers, spilled drinks, etc.) in the elevators on several occasions.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Wonderful cabin! I loved the extended size and comfort. Our steward, Jeeze, was great! He made certain it kept clean and available when we needed it. The only negative was its proximity to the Lido deck. Because of the crazy DJ, there was often "bass" booms heard in the afternoon while resting on the outdoor deck.
