Review summary

Carnival food is bad, I have had hospital food that tasted better. This is not a reflection on the staff, they are great. Also entertainment is not like it use to be , Comedians only a 30 min show, by time you get your drink ordered and delv. the comedians is over No longer have live entertainment with dancers every night.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
the food in MDR was small portions even for a preteen. The Quality food was poor in dining room, even worse on the buffet.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
no longer has a performance by the dancers every evening And when they did it was for only 30 min. Comedians only 30 min shows.

Service and Staff

room steward and dining room attendant where great as always.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Miss not having turn down service every night. And only once a day having Stewart in room, would be willing to even pay extra for the option of twice a day service. Also need more trash cans in the rooms

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

4 out of 5
did excursions on my own not thru carnival

Montego Bay, Jamaica

3 out of 5
was crazy to have to walk to outside the port to meet with planned excursion, that was not thru carnival.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
favorite port went to all exclusive beach, booked on my own. Service was great. Drinks wonderful.

Disembarkation

Cruising is a good value. I believe you can have a good or a bad cruise , it depends on you.

Appreciate your detailed feedback. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations and was below the standards you’ve come to expect from Carnival. Twice a day service is unlikely to return. Portion sizes will probably stay smaller due to the perceived waste. These seem to be reoccurring complaints.

Staffing and supply shortages have affected most cruises, but it seems you managed to fit a lot into only 3 days. I’m still cruising Carnival while it recovers and tries to get back to previous service levels; it’s better than not cruising at all.

The food quality has definitely gone down. I believe the shutdown of 2020/21 hurt them so bad that they are cutting corners everywhere to try and recoup those huge losses. As long as I'm on the ship and have a balcony I really don't mind losing things like turndown service, but when the food quality is affected, it's too much for me to ignore. I have one more Carnival trip booked later this year and if the food hasn't improved, I'll probably jump to another line.
