We enjoyed most of our cruise with Carnival Glory, with cruise director Johnny and many of his staff, including Greta and Lucie. All of the attendants were lovely and they work hard. We were able to meet a wide variety of people from all across the United States. Some of the not-so-good points included our cabin placement (directly above the atrium), the sheer volume of people and noise that was difficult to escape, and other inconveniences around food, costs, and simply getting around the ship. I'm glad we got to do it, but I'm not in a hurry to do it again.
Embarkation

Jhai, the screener at NOLA, was great; some of the other NOLA folks had no patience for questions. Carnival staff were fine.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Drinks were great, and there were plenty to choose from. We stuck with the Golden Restaurant (MDR) and Lido Deck buffets. MDR food was often mediocre (my grilled salmon was dry), and I got sick of the buffet foods fairly quickly. I LOVED the burrito bar.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
A strip of the Fun Shops were closed for a remodel. Many pools and whirlpools to choose from. There was minigolf and an athletics court, but we never used it. The fitness center looked neat.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Stage shows were great -- the Amber Palace had a malfunction one evening, but the performers were able to give a "concert-style" version of their show and it was lovely! Two of the comedians were awful, but the other two -- Just June and Kim Harrison -- were great.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward, Aris, was great, very attentive. Everyone on the Lido Deck worked hard to keep things tidy and running smoothly.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The decor in our stateroom is woefully outdated. Many of the light fixtures throughout the ship (over the Atrium/Colors Lounge and along Deck 5's Kaleidoscope Hallway) were out or malfunctioning. Everything is clean, but definitely showing its age.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
If you have any aversion to noise, you will likely hate this cabin. It is situated directly over the atrium/Colors Lounge on Deck 3 so all the noise carries upward, even with the doors closed. There is no sound-proofing or -masking in place; the walls shake with the bass from the bands downstairs, which would play anywhere up to midnight. It is very spacious as a handicap-accessible room and bathroom. The lighting in the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired.
Ship tip
Get familiar with the elevators -- midship and aft can get you to food and entertainment more easily.
We booked Afan's excursion through Viator. He took us on a tour of the island, to the Rum Company and a chocolate tasting, and to a center with sloths, monkeys, and parrots. The port itself is okay.
