Review summary

We have had a wonderful 7 days on the Carnival Glory! The food anywhere you go on board is delicious! Guy's burgers is definitely worth the wait in line as is the Blue Iguana Cantina. The food and service in the dining room is phenomenal! Patrick, Ron, and Sandra took very good care of us each night at dinner. Although the rooms are small, the layout is such that you have lots of room to unpack clothing and belongings. The bathroom and shower space are small, but the water is always very hot and the water pressure in the shower is awesome!! Way better than what I have at home!! I wanted to linger longer in the shower everyday, just because it was so good!! Krisna was our room steward and he was so very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated him cleaning up after us and our teenage boys each day!! Circle C is an area especially for 12-14 year olds. My 14 year old was very resistant to going there until he found out about Oliver from Great Britain! My son spent a great amount of time talking "tea" with Oli when not playing video games with all the friends he made. The ship itself is especially clean! Staff are continuously cleaning the deck, dining areas, wiping railings, etc. Not once was I worried about getting covid on this ship!! At this point guests on the ship are not required to wear masks, but staff do. They wear them all the time regardless of the stiffling hot temperatures! And they also wear them properly! There are many places on this ship to hang out, participate in activities, or listen to music. You can do as much or as little as you want to. You can always find a place to go if you want peace and quiet as well. We had a room with a balcony, so we took advantage of that quite frequently! Loved having a view from our room and will probably not book another cruise without a balcony!! On this cruise, we went to Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel. There were plenty of fun excursions available at every stop. Our favorite excursion was the cave tubing in Belize.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

There was always food around. Carnival has good food but not excellent food. It is a cheaper family cruise line. I did enjoy the food.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

The main show was music and dancing. The back drop was movable large Monitors that added to an amazing show. The Laser lights and back drop were so great. Just loved it.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My son is 14 years old. We were afraid that he would not want to go into any of the kids programs. But Ollie in charge of circle C was from United Kingdom and my son bonded with him very well. Ollie made The cruise for my son. He said it was the best cruise he was ever on and it was all due to Ollie.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone on the carnival glory was super nice. Patrick Ron and Sandra where our waiters in the main dining hall. They did a great job. Very attentive and very friendly. Krishna was our Stuart, even though we never saw him much every time we left the room and came back the room was clean. It was like a little elf comes and cleaned your room and leaves before you even notice it.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony room with four people in it. It was a little cramped but the beds were comfortable. My wife loved the shower even though the bathroom was small there was enough water pressure and hot water that she just stayed in there forever. Maybe she was trying to get away from me, just kidding.

Ship tip

If you're new to cruising, you got to put yourself out there and try new things. They always have something interesting on the menu in the main dining room like frog legs, shark puffs. And stuff like that. Also getting involved in shows, or get to know other people.

Ports of call

Belize City, Belize

We used cave-tubing.com aka butts up cave tubing. They were great. The bus ride was 45 minutes from Port and an air conditioned bus. They entertained us on the way and told us things about the island. The boys really enjoyed going through the caves on an inner tube. Cave-tubing.com you don't have to carry your tube the 15-minute hike down to the caves. The tubes were already by the water. It was cool and fun. A little rushed, but they got us back to the cruise ship about an hour before the cruise left so it was understandable.

Cozumel, Mexico

We used a cruise excursion from the cruise ship for snorkeling and ruins. The ruins were good, the snorkeling left something to be desirable. I prefer to use local tours for excursion. But because of covid my wife wanted to try the cruise excursions.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
We snorkeled in Roatan. The reefs there were one of the best I've ever seen on a ship excursion. We used real deal excursions. And it was great. The chocolate is wonderful. And the people were friendly. I did feel safe. We did walk to carnivals beach which is a short walk away and that would have been a great place to hang out for the day. But I do recommend snorkeling on their reef.

New Orleans, Louisiana

It's New Orleans, and everything about it. Neat environment, great food. Not the best of smells, could use clean up crew. But that's exactly what we expected from New Orleans.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarking was super easy with the face recognition for those that had passports. You just walked through smiled in your out. Disembarking from the time we got in line to the time we got in a taxi was about 25 minutes. Again lots better than the old days.
