Review summary

This was a very relaxing cruise which was much needed after the pandemic. Wish that there was better food and more activities. The best thing I can say about this is: WE WERE ON A CRUISE - FINALLY!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had all the proper paperwork so it was easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
If it were possible I would give the food less than 1 star. The food was over cooked and dry/tough in the main dining room. The buffet stayed open in the evening until 7pm not much to choose on that either. VERY small buffet. Highly disappointed with the food on board

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The activities were next to nil. If you liked trivia then this was the cruise for you! no liquor tasting, no sales in the shops. The 2 pools were full all the time. The Dive-In movies were ok BUT the sound was not there, so instead of HEARING the movie you had to read sub-titles which takes away from the experience. When asked about turning the sound up nothing happened.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
there was always music playing somewhere on the ship, but THAT was so loud you could not hear yourself think let alone carry on a conversation.

Children's Programs

did not cruise with childrean

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The room steward went out of his way to make our stay the best he could. He is what made the cruise worth it

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
This ship was kinda tough to get around, once the layout was learned then it was not so bad. there was always someone around cleaning it, which made me feel good with the pandemic. The ship is dated, has lots of rust on the outside and the décor needs some updating

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This size of the cabin was ok, not as much storage as a reg cabin. No couch in the cabin 2 chairs and a table. It was cleaned 1x a day as per Carnival's new rule (I think it is to do with money and not the COVID as they state) The reason people book this room is for the balcony which was huge, we loved the balcony

Ship tip

Make sure you have all your paperwork in order prior to arriving, makes things go much smoother

It is frustrating when the sound is too high or low. Did they not have any shows in the theater at nights, no comedians, no game shows? I never considered the sales in shops to be "entertainment".
