Bad experience for first time cruisers. My kids loved the cruise. Being the person that paid for everything, I was less than impressed.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was smoother than I would have expected
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food was mediocre at best. Cheers/beverage pigs were a rip off
JavaBlue Café
4 out of 5
Enjoyed the espresso
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Fitness room was nice, walking track was a nice option. Kids enjoyed the hotubs and pool. Unfortunately the pool had to be drained the last day at sea due to extreme speeds, to make up for just time after collision.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Anything geared toward adults required extra money...which is ridiculous considering the money it took just to book.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Loved the shows and entertainment. Weren't real impressed by the kids club.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Most personnel were friendly and helpful.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Very outdated decor, curtains in rooms were filthy.
Common areas were always kept clean
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Enough space, always nicely cleaned. Very outdated
Ship tip
DONT SAIL WITH CARNIVAL...NO REFUNDS WERE OFFERED FOR A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
The captain told us the weather was going to get bad and they had already taken 2 bigger boats...sounds like a very poor excuse for bad planning on Carnivals part.
I had to laugh at this "review" as I have read many good reviews from this same cruise. There is plenty of things to do for adults to do free of charge. They did not miss GC because they wanted to, it's a huge pain in the butt for the whole crew when they miss a port. You arent owed anything, you pd for a cruise and received a cruise!!!
We have now 70 cruises with carnival . Accidents do happen , and weather can't be controlled , masks the best of it ! Why should you get a refund , because you lost a day poolside ?? Be glad there wasn't an Accident out at sea .
No cruise history, only picture posted is of the freak accident that happened (could have been googled easily). Those alone make me wonder if you really went. Hasbro game show, comedy club, evening shows, music all around the ship, trivia, pools, hot tubs, fitness center, movie on lido deck all free. Most things are free. Maybe you should look at things like your kids did.
Another pessimistic person looking for a refund!!!! The fact that you didn’t care for the kids clubs doesn’t matter. Your kids loved the clubs. You should try being positive and smiling once in a while. THOSE TWO THINGS ARE FREE!!!! Love the Glory and Carnival.
What entertainment cost extra besides bingo & the casino? Why didn't you take advantage of Carnival's Great Vacation Guarantee if the cruise was that bad?
I’m curious about what entertainment experiences cost extra. We rarely spend on anything on the ship other than the basic cruise fare and gratuities and have a great time. The evening shows, comedy club, loungers on deck, etc. have always been free. As far as the cost of the cruise, booking near a holiday, Spring Break or during the summer is almost always more expensive. Book in the off-season when school is in session for a much better value.
