Wonderful trip! I highly recommend Carnival Cruises and the Carnival Glory. The crew on the Glory are wonderful and really make you feel pampered while at the same time making it feel like home. The destinations were all worth going to and while we saw some very poor areas we also saw amazing historical sites and fun tourists attractions.

Food and Dining

Enjoyed breakfast buffet every morning and dined in the Golden Dining Room every evening. The food and crew in the Golden was A+ every night. Several days we ordered oysters on the half at the raw bar for our happy hour and they were always great. Guys Burgers has the best burger & fries I’ve ever had.
Alchemy Bar

The bartenders at Alchemy are true mixologists and watching them make drinks is one of the big draws for the bar. Great unique beverages and always someone interesting to talk to at the bar. The bartenders Milan and Katerina were very personable, friendly, and helpful.
Golden Restaurant

Every meal was delicious and the service is hard to beat. Our waiter Sucipto was professional, friendly, and able to anticipate our needs. We also loved the shows!
JavaBlue Café

Frappuccino was better than Starbucks and had a chocolate straw!
Onboard Activities

I loved hanging on the serenity deck and there was always something fun going on somewhere on the ship. Dustin is a great Cruise Director so there are plenty of activities. We played trivia, did arts & crafts, and attended all the musical productions.

Nice setup and helpful staff. Alexsandr was very extremely helpful and opened up solely for my friends to by the snorkel mask sold in pixels.
Entertainment

The stage shows were all very entertaining and the performers were excellent. It amazed me how the lighting and music were almost as good as on broadway.
Amber Palace Main Lounge

Very nice set up! I wish every theater had as comfortable seating and good views. All the shows we attended were excellent productions by a very talented cast and light/sound technicians.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the staff I encountered on the Glory were very professional and friendly. Staff in areas we frequented were very good at remembering our names which made us feel even more welcome. Our room steward was extremely attentive and took care of all our needs. Our main waiter in the dining room anticipated our needs so we rarely had to ask for anything.
Ship Quality

This was my second sailing on the Glory and I like everything about the ship except I wish there was an easier way to bypass the the smoke from the casino when going to the back of the ship. We hung out a lot at the Alchemy Bar which is on the same floor as the casino so we had to always take a really roundabout way to/from the bar. The Glory is a bit older of a ship but it is clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was very comfortable and roomy with a lot of storage space. The cabin was cleaned and well maintained. We had a couple of issues with one of the sinks and a lightbulb went out and our room steward immediately had them taken care of. The balcony was of course my favorite part of the suite.
Ship tip
Pack casual clothes because except for the formal nights everything is very laid back. Take a Light wrap/sweater/jacket of some sort because the formal dining room and theater get chilly.
We spent several days in NOLA prior to departure. Omni Royale is always my go to hotel and they did not disappoint. Booked a swamp tour with Cajun Adventures and had a blast & learned a lot. It was my second time with Cajun Adventures and I highly recommend them.
We met some people on the Glory who were from Roatan and they told us where we should go in a taxi. The Sloth and Monkey Hangout (wildlife refuge) is a must see. We got to hold a sloth, monkeys, and a parrot & the guide was very knowledgeable. Be sure and take cash because they don’t take cards. We also went to the French Key island resort. Great food & service with beautiful beach space and palapas for shade. The also have a small zoo.
Booked an excursion from the excursion desk on the Glory to the Lamani Ruins. The tour guides were all very knowledgeable, the included lunch was good, and the ruins were amazing. Take LOTS of bug spray, cover up as much of your skin as possible, wear closed toe shoes, and take bottled water.
We were told By several people to go to paradise beach but we let the cab driver talk us into going to tequila beach. Don’t go there. While they did have excellent guacamole the beach is very small and very crowded.
The Glory crew were extremely well organized and everything went very smoothly. Getting off the ship and out of the cruise terminal took about half the time as it did disembarking from the same ship when it was docked in Miami. New Orleans cruise terminal employees were all very friendly and helpful.
Nice to see a positive review! So many people come on here to gripe and we are sailing on her in a couple of weeks and the negative reviews make me leery! Glad you had fun!
