Carnival Glory

7 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)

Sail date: October 06, 2019

Ship: Carnival Glory

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 6296

Traveled as: Family (young children)

Review summary

Get a Dry Dock ASAP. Our cabin happened to be above rust breaking which was no fun to hear Jack hammering sound non stop inside our cabin and on our balcony. And I dont mean while in port, but AT SEA as well. My wife was not happy. But like any cruise, we made it work.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining got better after 1st night, but to be expected. Red Frog was by far the most fun crew. Sports bar was a good change of pace but other then game day, was dead.

Onboard Activities

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Normally I can't keep my 7 year old out of camp. This time, she was not as entertained other then build a bear. She said the staff were not as much fun.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Overall, the staff acted as if they were over worked and tried. Not the norm for most Carnival cruises.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Boat is ready for a dry dock. They were rust breaking just below our balcony, which left us with a deafening noise half of the time. Wife was not happy.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Fridge did not work, they brought us a cooler with ice (better then nothing I guess) Balcony door mechanism was broke which caused it to slam shut every time (sorry neighbors) Drains were clogged, but got that cleared :)

Ship tip

Think twice before booking. Ask if any scheduled maintenance onboard and if so get cabin as far away from it. It is an older ship that needs a drydock, badly so dont expect a Breeze or Magic.

Ports of call

Stay on ship if not doing a Carnival Excursion.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Turtle Farm, but take taxi and pay them direct. You will save money and on your time. Swimming in the lagoon with massive turtles was awesome.

Our first cruise was the Glory in September and it was AMAZING! Our wait staff was top notch, so personable and made the entire trip! Sailed the Fantasy this past week and NEVER AGAIN. Glad we had a wonderful experience the first time, so we know to do our homework a bit better for the next one.

Was just on the Glory in September. LOVED HER. True, older ship but great crew and ship very clean. Do not hesitate to sail on the Glory!!!
