Review summary

Embarkation was excellent - probably the best we've ever had of all our numerous cruises. As far as bar service and regular service on the first day - was not great. In fact, it was down right terrible service. We met someone who told us that it would get better (for this ship) after the 1st day and it did. Romaine is excellent! I could listen to him play for hours. The comedians were some of the best we had heard. The stage shows were awful -- don't waste your time on them. Rarely saw or heard from the cruise director except on disembarkation day -- about a million times repeating how to get off the ship. Other than that, it was a great cruise. Not my favorite cruise but definitely not the worst either.

I can't say enough about embarkation! The first time EVER in all my cruises that I was on ship in less than 10 minutes!

The first day was a little rocky with the bartenders. After that , most of the bartenders were fabulous! The main dining was delicious! The Emerald Steak House was sooooooo good! We only ate the buffet once ... we usually ate at Guys burgers or the Blue Iguana for breakfast and/or lunch --- they both were EXCELLENT!!!!

Ok - this is probably my absolute favorite thing about this ship or maybe its on all Carnival ships. Anyway, you can be anywhere on the ship and they'll deliver your pizza to you (for $5)!!! Holy Smokes!!! Pizza delivery on a ship!!! Absolutely worth it!!!

I cannot say enough about the Blue Iguana food and service. The service is outstanding and the food is made fresh ... absolutely delicious! Hubby and I ate here and Guys burger every day.

We played bingo and participated in some trivia, etc. We laid out by the pool a couple of times. This ship didn't have a lot of on-board activities and if they did, it certainly wasn't advertised.

Never officially met my room steward. I saw him 2x for maybe 20 seconds and that's it. I couldn't even tell you his name. Waiters were fantastic.

Ship Quality

This ship's layout is kind of weird. It was a little difficult to navigate. Picture taking was done in main hallways, main hallways by the casino, etc. so it was very hard to walk by when there's a photographer taking pictures and folks are trying to get somewhere. Hubby and I had reservations at the Emerald Steak House on Valentine's Day ... it took us a little bit to find it EVEN WITH A MAP.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin itself was fantastic! Unfortunately, if you wanted to lay out on your balcony, you couldn't see from the gook and filth on the balcony glass. We mentioned it to the steward but it never got cleaned. Also, the balcony was filthy.

Ship tip

We had a good time, but I'm not sure I would sail on this ship again.

Cozumel, Mexico

I love Cozumel. Hubby and I and some new friends we made on the ship went to Mr. Sanchos for the day. Mr. Sanchos is-hands-down-THE BEST PLACE to eat, drink and enjoy the beach!
