Review summary

We strongly recommend the Glory for a small cruise experience. There is great value and great opportunities to "chill and relax" and have fun too.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were assigned a late embarkation (1:30pm) which worked out well for us. We live in Miami so we had a late breakfast before we left for the port. There were no lines at that time and we were able to get onto the ship quickly. Much smoother than previous experiences.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I am a fussy eater and the food in the dining room was excellent most nights. The buffet was not as varied as it used to be at lunchtime, but there were many other options. We loved the fresh fish option which was worth the extra charge. Service was consistently excellent at the buffet and dining room.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Onboard activities are somewhat limited and not up to my standard for entertainment. I do not go on the Glory to be entertained so that is not a great disappointment for us. There were plenty of board games in the library that we took advantage of during rainy days.

Entertainment

We do late dining and the entertainment is not the kind that I enjoy

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We received excellent service from our room steward as well as our servers in the dining room. Room service was also excellent. Our room was cleaned when we wanted it to be clean and our servers in the dining room were attentive and made sure that we were happy with the meals we ordered.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship is easy to navigate which is why this is our 4th time on the Glory. WE usually stay in the back end of the ship during the day which is quieter and more comfortable.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We appreciated having the larger size cabin and balcony BUT the seating in the room was more limited than in the suite. There was plenty of space for a couch which would have been nice to have.

Ship tip

Bring a light jacket - the A/C is very cool inside the ship.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
we live here!

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island) Did not visit port

We were not interested in the excursions offered and some had to be cancelled due to weather.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Too commercial and crowded at the port. I would not get off the ship if we stop here again. We chose to not do any excursion - there was nothing that interested us.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
We did a water falls excursion through Viator and that was great. The port is minimalist but we had a great meal there.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Grand Turk is still rebuilding from the hurricane. We took a small private tour booked through Viator and that was great. The port experience is limited.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Actually this went smoother than on previous cruises on this ship. Finding our luggage was a challenge, but the lines for disembarkation were much more manageable than in the past. We were done within 30 minutes.

Great Review we have been on the Glory once and we are scheduled to go December 2018. I agree with your review. Although we do like the comedy clubs and the other entertainment on board the glory in the carnival ships after all they are the fun ships. I like MSC Divina for a good relaxing Value cruise. Only wish we lived in Florida like you guys so we could cruise more. Hoping to move there soon.✌⚓🚢
