Review summary
This was the first cruise for me and my husband, we had no idea what to expect. We enjoyed the shore excursions, the comedy shows and the friendliness of the staff; especially our Cruise Director Eric. With over 3800 guests that were on the ship, it was nice that they remembered our names when they greeted us. Although it was confusing on how to get to certain parts of the shift (from Aft to Forward).
The only downfall was the food in the Golden Restaurant. My husband is a chef, I guess I expected better quality and selections. The first night I ordered swordfish- it came out tough in the middle and cold. I also did not care for the vegetables that were paired with the dishes, the broccoli was soggy every day. I'm glad we had any time dining because we would literally wait an hour between ordering and when I first dish arrived. When my husband ordered the Port of Call, he was unimpressed with the menu choices. We thought it was going to be food chosen based on the port location. Nope, that wasn't the case. After the 3rd day, he no longer ordered on the POC side. However, Guy's Burgers on the Lido deck was AMAZING and so was the Surf and Turf.
Not too impressed with all the Michael Jackson Nights that they had (MJ Night and Thriller for 2 nights in a row). Lastly, underwhelmed with guest services. Not sure why they did not have enough assistance in that area. We waited in line 45 minutes because there was only one person working when the line was wrapped around the corner. Others waited longer, especially the last day.
Overall, I would give them a 3.7/5 and will book with them again in 2018. Already looking forward to that trip.
