Review summary

This was my 4th time with Carrival and I was very disappointed. Our rooms were always nicely done and the crew members were very friendly. We had kids; a 19 month old and an 8 year old and they made the kids feel very special. The best part was they all appeared to be genuine. However, 19 month old only drinks warm milk and it seemed unheard of to the kitchen staff at first. They told us that they had no way of warming milk at first then we were later sent to the coffee shop which solved the problem. The staff at the coffee shop was the least pleasant, very "straight faced". The food.....the food... the food was sub standard. The breakfast menu was the same every morning. The omelet from the breakfast buffet was a shortcut and was it was terrible. Lunch and dinner were just not much appetizing. Guy's Burgers and Fries was a disgusting greasy mess. This gave us a good reason to load up on salads. I recall when the pizza had a crust, now it is all extra thin crust...talk about cut back though I do understand the the thinner crust needs less cooking time. The New Year's celebration was a blast. The entertainment was good and we had fun. My next cruise will definitely not be Carnival.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The food was overall horrible. very repetitous menu and overall not appetizing. A big drop in quality. A was looking forward to a stir fry station. We felt like we got less for our money when it comes to quality.

Onboard Activities

A lot to do

Entertainment

Great variety. Dj Devine and Reverend Dr E were fun and personable.

Children's Programs

We just wished that we were told that our 19 month old would not be accepted during the day time, had we known that we would have picked a different vacation idea. They are only accepted at Night Owl between 10 pm and 1 am where there is a fee.

Service and Staff

Overall warm and personable. Coffee shop staff just a "matter of fact."

Ship Quality

The layout of the omelet station at the breakfast buffet was in a very awkward location; right at the base of a flight of stairs to the "fish and fries" area. this created a problem in the flow of traffic. very weird.

Cabin / Stateroom

On arrival to our cabin our shower only got hot when we flushed the toilet. we called about it and it was fixed but my husband had to keep flushing the toilet repeatedly during his shower in order for him to get hot water. I went first and got a cold shower this was how we discovered the trick about flushing the toilet in order to get hot water in the shower.

Ship tip

If you have kids under 2 years old and you want some couples time alone Carnival may not be the ship of choice for you.
