Review summary

Our impressions of the ship were good. We have sailed on Carnival before, and this was probably the best cruise of the three we have been on. There were plenty of activities for adults, and the kids really loved the water slide, the pools and the hot tubs. Our host for the ship was very informative, and kept everyone abreast of the upcoming activities and excursions avaiable for the travellers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Our Maitre D, "Chubby", was fantastic! He made us feel like a part of his family. He took very good care of us. The food quality was very good in the Golden Dining Room. The wait-staff was also very accommodating, and made the children feel like they were treated "extra special". The Emerald Room had superb quality and the service was top-notch.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The fee for laser tag was ridiculous and the space was not appropriate for the amount of children wanting to play. Should have been more organized, maybe by age-group?

Service and Staff

Everyone that we were in contact with, were very friendly and helpful. The staff was very approachable and our steward was great. He addressed us within a couple of hours, all by first-name basis. Wow! that was impressive.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our stateroom had a perpetual "clicking" sound that was caused by one of the picture frames making contact with the wall, and with the gentle rocking of the boat, it was quite noticable, and interrupted our sleep for the evenings. We informed our steward, and he in-turn,contacted the maintenance crew. Their solution was to stick a piece of double-stick tape in the corner of the frame. It unfortunately, did not do the trick, and we notified our steward again. It was quite annoying. We eventually stuck a towel in the corners to see if that would help...... Hopefully our next cruise will be a little more peaceful for sleeping. The air conditioning could have been a bit colder.

Ports of call

Saint John, New Brunswick

The weather hindered us from planning excursions. The fees for some of the excursions were somewhat pricey, and discouraged us from using the services provided by the Cruise Line.

Pros: Our Maitre D,

Cons: The long wait for open seating dinner
