Cave Tubing:Belize City, Belize was not listed so I'll place my query here. On 2023.02.02 I am looking at booking with Cave Tubing BZ. My wife is 57 & can be prone to heat exhaustion. There is a 30-45min trek to the starting area. Does anyone know if it is in Jungle Canopy or direct sunshine?

It's a hot walk and you need to wear gym shoes, but my wife said it was worth it and keep you butt up if the river is low

60% tree covered. Also know ahead of time whether you’ll be expected to carry your own tubes with you. Some guides make you where other operators have them waiting at the waters edge. Carrying them in can be an unexpected and unwanted but preventable chore.

I wouldn’t recommend it. Some shade it still very hot. We’ve done this and it was one of the hottest - if not THE hottest - places we have ever been. And we live in the south where we have high heat/humidity. The trek was rough for me due to the heat. Once we got into the River, we were fine.

don't go if there has been a lot of rain the day or 2 before. 10 years ago , son & fiance went. " Devils whirlpool" at exit point pulled folks out of tubes,  who panicked and 1 woman drowned.  just be aware of prior weather .
