Review summary

This cruise was my very first cruise ever. It was wonderful and met all my expectations and more. The only criticism I have is that the ship Wifi kept disconnecting on my phone. (I don't know if that was my phone causing this or not). We bought the "Chat" so that we could communicate with one another. I like that feature but sometimes it would work and other times it would say that the "chat was disconnected" and so we couldn't use it and would have to wait until it would start working again. That was a bit annoying. Otherwise, everything else went smoothly and the whole trip was enjoyable, relaxing and fun. Thanks for making it so special.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was wonderful and such a nice variety. It was beautifully presented and again, the staff was very friendly and helpful in answering questions about the food stations and helpful in their directions to the particular area you were looking for.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the music shows in the lobby area and the theater. We also enjoyed the pools and the fact that entertainment was provided while there much of the time.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The perfomances we watched were very well done and the entertainers were friendly and loved how they involved the audience on many occasions by asking us if we would want them to play a certain song.

Children's Programs

No children in our group.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiter was Erix in the posh dining room deck 3 at 6 pm. Our table was 378. He was GREAT! He had a wonderful sense of humor, called us all by name and accomodated our every whim. He was OUTSTANDING! Our cabin Stateroom attendant was Lloyd and I can't say enough about how nice and charming he was. He always spoke to us and asked us how we were doing by name! He really made us feel like we were his first priority and always had our room looking sharp. We loved our cute little towel animals he made everyday. I would rate his service as Excellent!! Thanks to both of those gentlemen for making our first every cruise very special and pleasant.

Ship Quality

We enjoyed the layout of the ship for the most part. A couple of the decks were confusing such as deck 3 and 4 because you couldn't go from the front to the back without having to get back on the elevator and going to another deck like 5 in order to accomplish that. It took a while (a few days) to get it figured out and we weren't the only ones. It became a regular joke to say "you can't get there from here". The cleanliness of the ship was perfect though. The staff could be seen cleaning messes up immediately and always working to keep everything clean, sanitized, etc. You are doing an awesome job in that department.

Cabin / Stateroom

The size was absolutely perfect. The beds were very comfortable. I was surprised at how nice and large the bathroom was! And, we loved our balcony!! There was plenty of room to move about and enjoy coming back to the room whenever we wanted to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the common areas of the ship.

Ship tip

I would tell them to definitely get a balcony suite. It was worth the increase in price to have a room with the balcony!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
This is where we boarded our ship and it was clearly marked and super easy to get to the ships port as we drove in from New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

This was a beautiful port and I liked that there were bicycle rickshaws and golf carts right there to take you from the ship down the long dock. However, we chose not to get off the ship here. We enjoyed staying on the ship and enjoy the peace and quiet of not having many people on board.

Grand Turk Island

We did get off here and went on the Rainbow Calypso tour. We had an outstanding driver and tour guide. I forgot his name but he was to donkey whisperer (haha) who would have the donkeys eat a cookie from his lips. He was so knowledgeable, accomodated by 94 year old mother and her wheel chair, was thoroughly knowledgeable of the Island and truly treated us to a show with his flair about the Island. It was great looking in the shops right there and easy to find our tour excursion area. The beaches are gorgeous and the water crystal clear! Truly a Caribbean paradise. Just what you are looking for in a trip like this.
