The safety of the ship and it's guests and crew are the foremost concern of the Captain and the cruise line. No ports or excertions are guaranteed, it's in the contract. Things happen like bad weather, political instability, or virus outbreaks. In the insurance business these are called acts of God. I would suggest learning to roll with the punches. As far as refunds they will refund your port fees.

I'm sorry your ports got cancelled but if you YouTube Legend and Glory crash it might help you to understand why lol. I hope you could make the best of your situation.

It happens and for different reasons but like others have said the usually refund the port fees for those ports.

I sailed last week to Caribbean on another Cruiseline (which I love). We missed a port due to heavy seas and the Captain explained why as they always do. Why cant people understand after the Captain gives the apology and the explanation. Why does the cruise suck because your and my safety was considered first ?

It sounds like cruising may not be for you. Ports are missed for a variety of reasons - weather, mechanical, medical or political issues, etc. The cruise line must put safety first and the cruise contract everyone agrees to when booking states that no ports are guaranteed. The only compensation required are to refund any port charges that you already paid for the missed ports, s although we have had them offer a small onboard credit or free drinks for an hour or two. It is not beneficial for the cruise line to miss a port, since they lose revenue on excursions booked through the ship. If a specific port or ports are important to you, you should always get a comprehensive travel insurance policy that will compensate you for a missed port or itinerary change.

I know the poster has to be disappointed. Did you not get reimbursed for port fees? You might look at your bill again. Carnival does care about cancellations, it’s simply easier for them to have the port call than deal with people who use the word “sucked” as a description. Safety is the primary concern of the captain, and I’m glad the whole crew has the same concern as well...

Carnival is also going to be more cautious now regarding docking in poor weather since two of their ships recently collided when one was trying to dock during windy conditions.
