I feel that this cruise and the ship was very poorly thought out and maintained and was yet the most expensive cruise that we have taken on Carnival. As a matter of fact both of the other couples have stated that they are done with Carnival. We will continue to use Carnival as this was only one bad experience out of the other 9 cruises that we have taken.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
very smoth and easy
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room was very poorly laid out and even though there were six people in out party they initially chose to sit four of us at one table and the other two at a completely different table. Knowing full well that all three rooms were booked together
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
there were none unless you wanted to "congo" in a line on the lido deck four out of the seven days
Entertainment
2 out of 5
the same entertainment over and over at the same venues on the ship
Children's Programs
no children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
the dining room and room steward always remembered out names and were very friendly
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
the air conditioning system at the rear of the ship failed for two days and there didn't seem to be any urgency in repairing it
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
the carpet was stained from several years of not cleaned, the windows were covered in sea salt from the moment we got on the ship and the ceiling of the balcony was filthy with dort and it looked like they had tried to paint over the dirt. But the most shocking was that according to the ship deck plans on the Carnival site the room was supposed to have a sofa bed in it and the room next door, (my brother and sister in laws room) was supposed to have a storage sofa, which they needed for their CPAP machines for storage, but the rooms were completely opposite of the room designs booked
Bought an excursion to Balmoral Island that was supposed to last 4 and a half hours, we were supposed to leave at 9:30 and didnt leave until 10:15 and then it was a 30 minute boat ride got to the island in time for lunch and found that the chicked was cold when they served it. It was supposed to be an all inclusive but it only includes one type of beer,(a mexican beer rather than a bahamian beer) still havent figured out why they would call it an all inclusive when they limit the number of drinks to six and choose to include an import beer rather than a native beer. Then had to leave at 1:30 in order to get back to Nassau to do some shopping so in essance the 4 and half hour excursion lasted about 2 hours.
I don't believe some of what you are posting.
The Freedom was in dry dock in March. Completely painted and upgraded. Carpets were all cleaned or replaced.
No activities? There are tons of activities throughout the ship. Use the hub app or funtimes to find them.
There is so much entertainment, comedy club, piano bar, karaoke and the production to name a few. You absolutely can see something different every night.
