Over-all we hated our time on Carnival and it ruined cruises for us completely. It was dirty, the music was bad, and one of the worst parts is it did not feel all inclusive,. Everywhere we went everyone was trying to sell us something. The photos are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. I have never seen prices that high for photos.. I will never cruise on Carnival even if you paid me.. Unfortunately we continue to have to pay off our debt from the cruise.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Getting on the ship was easier because we got there early and kept all of our luggage on us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The food tasted like microwaved dinners. We were very unsatisfied with the quality of the dinners, specialty restaurants and buffets. We tried everything.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Not pleased with the pools or activities to do.. we ended up spending a lot of our time in the stateroom to get away from the people.. Pools and activities felt unsanitary.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
The club played bad music and rarely did anyone dance, Comedy shows were funny but at the same time as our dinner. The shows were also not great that we went to.. Not a fan of the Clue performance.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff is the only part about the cruise that I can give a good rating on. They are all very kind and work hard to make sure you have a good experience.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
The design was falling apart in places and very dirty. The carpet is pretty gross and many places everywhere we touched it was sticky.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
There were two twin beds pushed together that were always getting pulled apart so barely any room on the bed. When we arrived the counter tops were sticky. There were marks on the walls and the lamps. Mostly felt unsanitary.
Ship tip
If someone tells me they are planning a carnival cruise I will tell them to save their money!
Cozumel was a decent port. There is a lot of tourist parts that are easy to get out of which is good. I recommend taking a scooter and going far to see what Cozumel really has to offer.
Belize was busy and the city was humbling.. We spent our time feeding howler monkeys in the jungle which was a experience I am grateful for. The local beer was not too bad. We did all our excursions through the locals because it is 100% cheaper than going through carnival. $40 to go to the jungle and city to feed monkeys. Great experience!
Honduras was very humbling.. we took a taxi and saw local shops and what it is really like for them.. We had iguana at a popular restaurant in town. The tourist part was terrible however. The beach and all the shops seemed very stale, in fact one of the workers gave us cheap beads that said Cozumel on them, so I assume it's all owned by carnival..
After 70 cruises on carnival , I will have to admit that carnival is going down hill . They have cut back on everything , from quality food , to entertainment, to employees . And they are overworked to the max .
Sounds like cruising is probably not for you. Most people love it, but it’s not for everyone. Many of the issues you had, such as the twin beds pushed together, are common across all cruise lines, not just Carnival or the specific ship.
