Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
With this being our third Cruise I'm not sure if my lovely Wife just learn how to cook a whole lot better since our last Cruise, but I did not really look forward to eating at the buffet much other than fresh salad and of course the meals at dinner are awesome like the lobster night, steak and shrimp and whatnot, but other than those my Wife and I cannot think of another meal that had significant good taste. I guess like compared to a home-cooked meal maybe. The burgers and pizza are good but I'm not going to eat that the whole 7 days. Lol

Onboard Activities

You can only do so much on the boat you should know that when you get on. There's plenty of downtime, rest time, reading time. I loved waking up early and working out watching the sun come up, that was my favorite thing to do.

Entertainment

Cruise director Emma and her FUN SHIP crew I think did an awesome job, of course I'm sure it gets tough finding new and interesting shows. Again my wife and I thought the shows we're better last time for some reason. Personally I think it's just because the more you Cruise you're just not as entertained anymore maybe. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!!!!! LOL

Children's Programs

I did not have any little ones but the little ones on the boat seemed very entertained. Lol There's one get on elevator who got picked up from a daycare and he wanted to go back.

Service and Staff

We are really gonna miss my Boy I- Made (a-ma-de) and his crew from dinner. They were really awesome with my boys and us. I hate but I wouldn't miss going to the last dinner when we sing and dance together. " We're leaving on a fun ship" I miss my Fun Ship already. ☹ lol Also ofcourse Emik and his crew always do an awesome job of making us feel like royalty for a week when we get back to our cabins. Thank you very much yall.

Ship Quality

The Freedom ship is gorgeous, each and every day I would see staff cleaning and maintaining this beautiful vessel. When we first got to the hallway of our cabin we noticed a leak somewhere in the hallway but we live on Earth not in heaven just yet so believe it or not we're going to have some malfunctions deal with it vacationers be blessed you're able to take a vacation. We had a cold water issue a couple of days. We dialed maintenance on the phone to have them come out but never called the front desk that was a mistake anytime you have issues in your room call both because they keep track of it and make sure it gets fixed. They did comp a few drinks for the issue and I just called Carnival to see what else they can do and they said since I accepted the drinks there's no more they can do so if you have any issues get your money back

Are cabins were awesome and clean. The cleaning crew did a great job every day to make us feel special. We did have an issue with cold water and we reported it to maintenance but not Guests service. That was a mistake always reported to both they keep track of it and make sure it gets fixed. They did come a few drinks while we were on the boat I did call Carnival back when we got home and she said since we accepted the free drinks there's no more than think she can do so if you have an issue get your money back on the boat

Ship tip

Get ready to meet Emma she has a cool, very energetic attitude. A voice that cheers you up when you hear the ding dong. Also they have a 21 and up section called the serenity with two hot tubs towards the front of the boat.

Ports of call

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

This was by far my favorite and most relaxing stop. I will definitely plan on returning back to the Grand Lucayan Resort. We shared a cab to the resort with another family. Dropped us off at the straw Market which is about a block away from the resort. We did the all exclusive food and drinks included access to the very nice pool and Beach and restrooms and whatnot well worth it. O ya and Wi-fi too, my teen boys loved that. Lol Inside and outside staff were kind and friendly. Did not meet one rude person. We were able to buy necklaces, bracelets, etc, my wife was also able to braid her hair all on the beach. Very memorable!!! Cant wait to go back and stay there!!!

This is a beautiful place. Iv heard people on here say these ports are dirty and what not. Not the case at all. We caught a $4 each cab to Atlantis, water park was closed due to morning weather. So we did the aquarium which was awesome. $40 each. But we found our way to the beautiful beach. First couple of hours was very nice then of course the vendors started to come out more as the weather cleared up. Selling toys and natural Pina coladas served in a coconut. Yum Only sad part is ofcourse they offered me and then later offered my two teen boys if we wanted wacky tobaccy. Lol. I thought with it being Atlantis in all, we would not run into that, Beach life i guess. We rented jet ski here as well since water park closed. The people at/in Atlantis are awesome, helpful, & nice. Ofcourse the water is the prettiest here. Love it.

Key West, Florida

Key West was a great, the whole fam enjoyed. We did not do an excursion, we just got off and walked around a bit and found Jet ski rental tour. They let us play for 45 min then took us around the island for a tour. Had Key lime pie at Kermit's and lunch across street from it. Would definitely make plans in future to visit. Thanks

Disembarkation

If you're able to carry your own bags off do so we had to wait an extra two and a half hours to get off. Again it is what it is. We were off by 10:30 and drove around Galveston for a little bit. No biggie
