Bottom line is when you build up something for so long, you hope it meets your expectations. This far exceeded our expectations and cannot wait to go on another!!!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Getting from the shuttle to the boat was extremely easy. We brought our luggage and stored it in the main area and proceeded to go through the check in process. Once through and after a short wait, our number was called and we proceeded to the boat.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was plentiful and the restaurants were very good. We ate at least once in every area!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The activities were ok. Stuart doing the trivia was great and Cruise Director Emma was amazing.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the comedy club every night and I went to the piano bar almost every night. Only the shows were a little less than expected.
Children's Programs
Our kids decided not to participate in those activities.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our restaurant servers, Head Waiter, Petru, Main Waiter, Muhammad and Aulia were amazing from day 1 to day 7. Christer in the casino never let our drinks go dry!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Freedom was an older boat and is about to go into dry dock for a refurbishment.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was small as expected but we made the most of the space by using magnet hooks to store items on walls. With both bunks being used, we had enough space to sleep!!
Ship tip
Know the layout and make sure you use the proper elevators. Certain floors have no access through because of the galley.
We went to the all inclusive Allegro Beach Resort and enjoyed it immensely. We booked it through cozumelcruiseexcursions.net and everything was easy to execute. We took a cab for $20 to the resort. We got there and paid our balance...in pesos!!! We went to the beach and snorkeled, kayaked and ate and drank. Great time!
We went on a combo excursion of ziplining and beach. We used shoreexcursiongroup.com. We had to take a shot taxi ride for $7 to the bus that took us to the zipline area. We had an option to go on a 2 line superman style or 11 line slower course. We chose the 11 line. AMAZING!!! Marlin was our guide and treated us great. We had 13 in our group that went. After the zipline, we were driven to the beach. The sand and water were much more beautiful than Cozumel but it was way more crowded.
By far, the best of all the excursions. We used ecotoursbelize.com. We got picked up at the terminal after a 20 minute tender ride. The bus took 29 people out to the caves so we could go cave tubing. Delroy gave us an amazing tour of Belize as we drove out to the cave and Tony was in the back with us giving us a ton more information. We got to the caves and walked 30 minutes through the rain forest still getting a ton of info on the area. Once in the caves, we went by groups of 8 tied together through limestone caves and then floated back through the rain forest back to the start. We then had a chance to taste cashew wine and got back on the bus. We preordered lunch and it was amazing. BBQ chicken and rice and beans in coconut oil. Tony also brought us some local hot sauce which was to die for! Tony then gave us some cake he baked himself!!! Bottom line, they deal with hundreds of tourists a week and they still treated us like we were the only ones they ever helped. THE BEST EVER!!!
Very smooth except for the lady at customs that told us to get in a line which was passport only instead of asking if we were using birth certificates and govrenment IDs
