Review summary

We had a blast on our first ever cruise experience! We are so appreciative of all of the crew/staff that helped make it so much fun.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Having never been on a cruise ship, it was so fun to attend the embarkation party on Lido deck! Watching the ship cruise away from shore was a great first time experience for us. The music and dancing was fun, and we even saw dolphins in the water as we sailed away! So much fun!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had an AWESOME wait staff in the the main dining room! From day one, Shaju knew our names and was so friendly and helpful! He, along with I Gede, and Ardana, always remembered our drink/preferences, had helpful dining suggestions, and were just amazing! The 8-year-old was excited with each visit to the main dining room to see what dance/entertainment we would see! In the other eating area, the breakfast/lunch buffet was another huge success, with great food offered each day. The 8 yo was excited to get ice cream nearly anytime she wanted. The teen has insisted that we try making mac and cheese rolls after trying them! We also enjoyed Guy Farari's Burgers frequently!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We were overwhelmed by all the fun and exciting activities available all day every day! The 8-year-old enjoyed could hardly wait to get into the pool each day and loved the water slide! We all enjoyed seeing the pictures each day on deck 4 and seeing all the stuff the shops had to offer!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We were certainly not lacking for entertainment each day! We all enjoyed listening to Dale on the acoustic guitar in the lobby when he played. (By the way, we would LOVED to have had an opportunity to purchase a CD of some of his original work!) The stage shows were a great draw; we particularly enjoyed the 80s Pop to the Max show! We also enjoyed visiting the art gallery and watching the Dive-In movies.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The 8-year-old had a blast at Camp Ocean, making new friends and enjoying the activities. The teen also made new friends at Club O2 and particularly enjoyed meeting and visiting with the director, Savage!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I Made, our room steward, was so helpful! We enjoyed coming in to a clean room after a day of fun and seeing what new towel animal was waiting on us! Shaju, along with I Gede and Ardana, made our dining experience so much fun! They were super friendly, knew our names from day one and our preferences! The Cruise Director, Steve From Canada, was so amazing! He was EVERYWHERE and made everything feel so exciting!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We were impressed with the way the crew/staff kept everything so clean and maintained. With so many thousands of people aboard, I coudn't even imagine how difficult that task would be. They were good at it and so dedicated and proud of their jobs!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We expected the room to be small with the four of us, but it was roomier than we thought it would be. It was great, and we enjoyed the balcony all week long!

Ship tip

This ship is so much fun! Take advantage of as many of the activities as you can!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
We drove into Galveston and stayed the beautiful Galvez Hotel before boarding the ship. It was great! Then the embarkation process was easy to maneuver with friendly helpful staff and crew to help us out.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We loved Cozumel! We spent the day on the beach at Mr. Sancho's and then shopped some. It was fun to introduce our kids to the ocean for the first time, swimming, building sand castles, and collecting treasures - coral, rocks, etc.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We enjoyed Grand Cayman, even if it was rainy most of the day! We took a Stingray City & Coral Garden snorkel excursion. It was so much fun!

Montego Bay, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We had heard some negative things about Jamaica, so we didn't venture much onto the island. We did, however, go ashore and shop there at the port. The sales people there were super friendly and helpful! We enjoyed visiting with them and finding some great souvenirs.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were well informed about the process, and everyone was helpful and friendly.
