Review summary

Can’t wait to go again! We had such a wonderful time. Very rocky seas on the last day but staff reassured us and gave us direction. I would love to go again soon and I really love Carnival.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was good. We arrived one half hour before our 12:30 scheduled time. And we were setting foot on the Freedom by 13:30.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at The Sun King for our first night. The food was very tasty and attractively prepared. I had a spice rubbed ribeye and my husband had fillet mignon and lobster. All the dishes were on point. The service was wonderful! We also had the same experience in the Posh dining room and other restaurants like the Blue Iguana, Guy’s Burgers, even the Lido Buffet. People complained the lines were exceedingly long but they were not that long. We spent, at the most, about 10 minutes in line. I must say that the Seaday Brunch was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful as well.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Malcolm Burn, Cruise Director, is a complete selling point on the Freedom! He is funny, high-energy, upbeat and courteous! He expands all ages and sort of bonds us all together. The pools were nice. Especially the aft pool. It seemed that the jacuzzis were always a little crowded, however, but there were times when I was able to get in.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I didn’t get to a show but listened to the DJs and they played good music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were all very attentive. They greeted us in hallways and on the Lido. I never felt like I was melting into the background. The room steward and those that assisted with him were kind, courteous, and efficient. The ship was clean and the staff were ALWAYS washing, shining, sweeping, or disinfecting something.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was clean and the staff were ALWAYS washing, shining, sweeping, or disinfecting something. The layout of the Freedom was a bit hard to navigate. The maps posted in the elevator areas helped.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was comfortable. The beds were very nice. The room was quiet. Cabin size was adequate.

Ship tip

Pay attention to the maps to get around. I would study that map well on the first day so you don’t spend so much time looking for places.
