Review summary

Overall an excellent experience for a first-time cruiser. Was impressed with quality of food, service, and friendliness of personnel. Amount of walking was worst part of cruise. However, I did LOSE six pounds.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Too many checkpoints. WAY too much walking.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was outstanding. Everywhere and anytime. Specialty restaurant was first class experience.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Could not make some activities because I was CONSTANTLY lost on the ship. Better written and oral directions should be given. Because of this, walking became a constant past time.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows like "88 Keys" were excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Cruise director - Malcolm - and steward - Tamrin - were better than excellent. Tamrin always called me by my first name.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very clean. Layout of ship and design needs improvements in newly built ships. For example, many time the floor I was on dead-ended in the middle of the ship. Because there was no access to continue on that floor, MANY times persons had to find an elevator, go up one floor, find another elevator, and go back down to the floor they were on. The no access areas and dead-ends led to massive confusion, MUCH walking, getting lost, and giving up trying to get to an activity.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Bed was lumpy but otherwise cabin was fine.

Ship tip

Written and oral directions on how EXACTLY to get from stateroom to activities.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Disembarkation

4 out of 5

We always try to walk as much as we can, never use the elevators, always take the stairs. In my mind at least, this is how I justify eating so much. πŸ˜ƒ Well in theory it should work. πŸ˜€πŸ˜πŸ˜ƒβ˜Ί

It’s good to do all that walking so you lose all the food you will be eating. πŸ˜‚

The ships provide full sahib deck maps at each elevator. Those show you very clearly which decks go all the way through and which do not. Also. Guest services has handy pocket sized full ship deck plans that you can carry with you.
