Third cruise but may be my last due to the turbulence which had me and my daughter sick several days even with Dramamine. Chilren were unattended by their parents and ran amock on the ship and dominated the whirlpools as well as pool.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
We had a check-in time but was sent through the long line of people where we ended up being held for two additional hours. I understand the need for courtesy, but some of the staff were just talking about nonsense things with patrons such as talking about animals and other things.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
This was the first time I participated in brunch on more than one occasion and it was fantastic. The nightly meals in the MDR were something I participated in again each night for the first time. Our waiter Rico was so people friendly and always remembered our names even when he saw us in other parts of the ship throughout the day. The buffet was just okay so I did not indulge in it much.
Freedom Restaurant
1 out of 5
Seafood Shack, food was overpriced and overcooked. Staff was rude. Tipped themselves 15% to be rude to me.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Gym was nice, the International Lounge was a nice size, jacuzzi was overrun with kids who wanted to dive and had no supervision from their parents.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Some of the comedians were not funny as they used the audience members as the butt of their jokes, one in particular.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Rico and Dewi in the MDR were fantastic and Suntadi the steward was attentive and very kind. He even came in the room to clean up despite my daughter and I being bedridden and unable to move due to extreme seasickness.

The steward did an awesome job daily but we were unable to enjoy our balcony due to our neighbors constantly smoking. Neighbors ont he oppisite side of them informed them she had reported them to guest services but they continued to smoke.
Booked excursion through site, Resort for a Day, due to Carnival being too high. Had a wonderful time at Jewel Dunn All Inclusive Resort. Cabanas were only $50 for etnire day and staff waited on you for drinks and food. Food was okay but drinks were WONDERFUL!!!!!!
All ships were there at same time which made a huge convergence on the area. Margaritaville was overcrowded requiring time to obtain a table. But because of the long walk to arrive there, did not want to just leave. Music was even too loud for my 30 yo daughter who was sinnging along to every song. Drinks were wonderful. Sellers are persistent to thepoint of being aggravating.
I was allowed to disembark early because I had to get home to my mother who was ill, but even that process was unorganized. Malcolm made it very confusing for people and those needing assistance were merging with those that were self-assisting.
I hope you don’t give up on cruising because this trip had rough seas. Try a different time of year & additional remedies with the Dramamine. We try to go mid to late Spring & have always had smooth seas.
It was my first cruise. I went to bed every night after eating in the Lido buffet. NEVER indulged in any festivities bc I was with a novice such as myself. NEVER researched the ship or explored leaving the ship.
