Because of Hurricane Harvey we were on the ship for 13 days. The is no way I can say how good Carnival was to us. First they kept us safe by staying away from the storm. They brought on new entertainers, kept us fed and active. We were treated so well by Carnival we will never ever cruise any other brand.

Entertainment

Malcolm, our cruise director was amiable energetic and hilarious. We attended all the shows and since we were on the ship 6 extra days because of Harvey, they brought in new shows and entertainers at New Orleans.

Aft view extended balcony #6487 was ready for us as soon as we got on board around 11:30. The aft balconies have less privacy than the side ones due to the slanted side walls.
Ship tip
The Freedom is like living in a juke box or slot machine, it has many lights everywhere and I love it.
Did the suns ape resort half day, it was worth it. We snorkeled over some sea grass beds full of fish that were right there. It doesn't seem to be a very structured cruise port yet, nothing within walking distance.
Did the turtle centre, it was interesting enough. Their water park is nice and the food is petty good. The bus ride was exciting, rain ands from Harvey were pounding us and the driver took a curve too fast on two wheels and the side doors flew open, much screaming as mothers clutched small children to keep them from flying out, so that was pretty cool. Lots of shopping close by.
Getting off any cruise ship for any port is a challenge of patience. When we got back to Galveston we only had half our passengers, the rest left at an emergency stop in New Orleans. Self assist gets off first, but they deal with all their luggage going down elevators with a thousand other people. Fast to the fun gets off next, that was us, took about 1-1/2 hours of sitting.
My boyfriend and I were on the Freedom from the 19th through the 29th. We disembarked in New Orleans the 2nd time because we needed to get home. This was my first cruise and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! The staff on the Freedom were wonderful! Brittany from The Punchliner, loved her. Malcolm was wonderfully funny and entertaining. He did a wonderful job as did each and every Carnival employee on that ship. I know they were exhausted. I would like for them to know their hard work does not go unnoticed by all. We watched and were in awe by all of them. Artha was our steward and we loved him as well. Thank you Carnival for taking such good care of us. Now if I could just get this rocking in my brain to stop! Never had a bit of sickness on the ship. The day after we disembarked my world started rocking lol I can still feel the ship moving (even though it was never bad on board!) Again, thank you all for a lovely, most relaxing vacation that I desperately needed! Love to all!
