Review summary

Service overall was great. I highly recommend if you are solely sold on service this is a great cruise to go on (except the spa experience). The shows need a little work. The disembarkation process should needs to be more organized for the future.

Embarkation

The embarkation process was easy and simple. The lines were long during check-in, but seemed to flow smoothly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We ate in the dining room every night (except once) - the service was great! Anthony & Kunal (I cannot remember his their last names) were amazing. The one night at the steak house, Ruby was our server and she did a great job of creating a different, yet exceptional service from the main dining room. Our favorite restaurants to eat at other than the main dining room were the Seafood Shack & Pizza Place. My only concern with the Pizza Place, was that since it was the only source of food (other than room service & self serve ice cream machines) is that it never seemed to have enough staff to handle the amount of guest traffic. This resulted in the line wait being anywhere between 10-40 minutes at any given time. The Viennese Cafe was another spot to pick up specialty coffee. Bibi knew exactly what we wanted every time we stopped by at least 1-2 times each day. Unfortunately, we were not able to try the BBQ restaurant as it was hidden and only open for 2 hours out of the day. However, we did manage to try Guy's Burger joint, which was sub par in my opinion. The burgers were extremely greasy, both times I gave it a shot. Sea Day Brunch was good, nothing out of the ordinary. Nonetheless, the service provided at all of the restaurants we visiting was great!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The only onboard activities we participated in were the adult pools, fitness center, spa, bars, and the casino. Adult pools were fun! Endry did a great job of taking care of us and remembering our go to drinks daily. However, I think the management of the "adults only" could have been better. Fitness center was as expected, nothing negative, but nothing noteworthy either. Spa was the worst experience we had on the cruise. On the first day my boyfriend had booked an acupuncture appointment at 4:00PM - which did not start until 4:35PM. During his session it is under the sports area on the above deck - where you can hear the bean bag toss and banging from above. Also the music in the room kept cutting in and out with inconsistent changes in volume and static. Then on one of the last days of cruising we had booked a couples massage, which also had started late and had the same music issues. We had tried several times prior to the massage to speak with the spa manager, to inform her of my boyfriend's first spa experience, but she was busy each time we attempted. After our couples massage we voiced our complaints & she said she would take care of the employees and handle our cost. We were not looking for a free service, come to find out if she "lowered" the cost of the service, it would lower the gratuities paid to the providers (which is not what we wanted). The providers themselves did a good job, but it was the entire management of the spa that we did not appreciate. At the bars, again service was great! Pat/Patty from Thailand in the atrium was the one who stood out the most! She remembered our drinks and each time before an excursion made sure we took water with us to stay hydrated!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were sub par. On other cruises I've been on the stage shows were more entertaining. We went to 3 comedy shows - the first one we went to was on the 2nd night of cruising after dinner - the performer was okay. He got a few laughs from the crowd, but was a little slow paced and not as interesting for me. On the last 2 nights we watched Spike Davis, his shows were much more entertaining and it seemed he knew how to read the crowd better.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was top notch. If we were regular at ordering something, they would remember and make sure we were well taken care of! Shout out to our server Anthony, Pat/Patty from Thailand at the atrium bar, Endry by the adult pool, Ruby at the Steakhouse, and Bibi at the Viennese cafe!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The crew was constantly cleaning and taking care of the ship. It seems that the ship is older so the designs on the ship were outdated, but we didn't let than ruin our experience!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Size was what was expected. Cleanliness was good. Bathroom had a faint odor to it, which was not pleasamt. Shower had trouble draining and would overflow.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
We needed to be out of our stateroom by 8:30AM, but were stuck waiting on specific floors for over an hour before we were called. We did the self-assist so our disembark process took a shorter time compared to those who did not participate in self-assist. I imagine their disembarking process much more uncomfortable than ours.
