Review summary

RATED: NCL a top quality time ... Carnival not sure. WAS DELIGHTED to find I was all wrong about the Carnival. Will definately be going again ... soon ... as they are great.

Embarkation

Easy - My hubby is in a wheelchair so we got priority treatment. A blessing as he gets anxious. I too have problems walking and was greeted by a host "Mam, you look like you could use a wheelchair". WOW - Customer service off the charts.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining rooms, which I first thought to be bad thing, turned out to be one of the best times of our days. The evening meal food was amazing, and for breakfast - How often do you get "Filet & eggs"? Evening meal included some "entertainment" too. WE did not do any of the speciality rest, but enjoyed the buffet. Ice cream is ALWAYS there too. Oh ya, the burger bar is a got to go to also. ALL THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING ... ONLY MISSING THING was I would of liked some of the "smoothie meals" being offered. Couple other guests also wanted a breakfast smoothie.

Onboard Activities

Pool - although busy was great. Did not do much else ...

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows - great and appropriate for all ages. The "Comedian" was pretty disquisting though. Did not waste my time going again. Ship was just a place to kick back and relax!!

Service and Staff

OMG - totally on a 1 - 10 they rated a 100. Was not sure about Carnival as always cruised NCL but WOW they went out of the way to be the best. Can't find one thing negative about the staff.

Ship Quality

Yes ---

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin seemed to be a bit small for a bed and couch. Being older it was almost a chore to get into bed from the "balcony" side of the room. I would really like something bigger, or maybe a different set up. The beds are OK - comfort. The staff outstanding. WHY do they change the sheets every day??? I think that when the make up the bed they could evaluate and change when needed. WASTE of water, etc. doing this.

Ship tip

GO CRUISING. WE loved it ! WE did not get off of our ship except on the last stop. ALTANTIS is beautiful but BEWARE when they tell you SOME WALKING. WE were totally exhausted and never would of done this excursion if we knew it was sooooo much walking.

The "advertisement" said some walking ... WE LITERALLY got heat exhaustion from the "Discover Atlantis" excursion. Get ready to do a lot of walking. ALSO - coming back there was a shuttle to take us to the ship from the security clearance area. WHY when we left to go on the excursion were we not offered this? WE walked and walked and walked some more.

Disembarkation

EASY - quick.
