Review summary

This was my first cruise and will probably be my last, at least on Carnival Cruiseline.

I was very pleased with my room w/balcony and my steward was very nice!

However, the food was very disappointing, this includes the food on the buffets and the food in the restaurants. The entertainment, "The Playlist" group was also very disappointing. Seriously, none of the men could sing and only two of the women had singing talent. The Cruise Director, Malcom Burn, was excellent and entertaining!!

In order to be able to sleep at night, I had to take drugs to knock me out. There was so much noise going on at all hours of the night, from the cleaning staff yelling up and down the hall at night to passengers yelling and screaming up and down the halls at all hours of the night........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....it was horrible to try and get a good night's rest.

I did not find cruising to be relaxing at all. I am not the only person who felt this way about this cruise. We talking with two different couples who were seasoned cruisers and they were also very disappointed in this cruise (food and entertainment).

All this to say, the staff on this cruise was VERY nice and polite, which was enjoyable.

Like I said before, if I ever cruise again, it will be on some other cruise line.

Thanks for listening.

I loved the room with the balcony. However, this room was across the hall from the Laundry room and there was noise coming from that room all night long. One night, I woke up to a shop vac being used, so I got up, opened my door and a crew member was using the shop vac in the laundry room, late at night. I asked him to stop, that people were trying to sleep.......geeeeezzzzzzz.....

Ship tip

Don't do it. Do not sail on Carnival. You pay a lot of money to take the cruise but once you get on board, EVERYTHING cost you money, from playing Bingo to getting coffee at the coffee bar.........

The freedom hasn't been to dry dock yet you must of been thinking about the breeze.

The Breeze is in dry dock right now.

bobineurope, they are getting a pig and anchor on the Freedom? I tried looking online but couldn't see that they were getting one

stephandlarry, I think you will have a blast, amazing friendly ship with great food and entertainment. This will be my 3rd year in a row to be on the Freedom and we love it! And yes Guys burger with toppings bar is great as well as the WOK and the burrito bar, Carnival compared to Royal has the best off dining food. Location on ship can make all the difference in the world as far as noise goes.

Biblwgirls your name tells it all, how can you expect a cruise ship to cater to each and every single person. I never heard of anyone going on a cruise to get a good night rest. I only used my room to shower change clothes and maybe get a few hours of sleep. Far as the passengers yelling and screaming you should have joined them and maybe you would have had some fun. Lighten up and live a little, you do seem like a miserable person.

We will leaving in 12 days on the Freedom. I heard great reviews in the past 2 weeks. I've read a lot of bad on this app. I guess we will see for ourselves. We have always gone on RC. 7 in a row. But last year the food wasn't up to par compared to the past. Hopefully Guys hamburgers will be good??!!

Always a good idea to research cabin locations before booking so you can avoid the noisier or heavy traffic areas. That's why we stay (1) at the back of the ship (2) with cabins above and below us. So quiet!

like sky said, cruising isn't for everyone. you gave your 3 ports a 1,2,3. they have over 3000 cruisers on board, we would like it if they could cater to just us. some times our frame of mind has a lot to do with how much we enjoy the cruise.

Thank you for putting everything in its proper perspective. You acknowledged the crew and your room and that's a good start. Explaining what was good (and not so good) definitely helps the next new cruiser. Thank you for that. Cruising isn't for everyone. The noise at night isn't much different than any major hotel chain in a resort city (in my experiences). Even in complete bliss and paradise. . . you still will have unpleasantries to deal with.
