Review summary

Being an older ship it is priced just as high as other better bigger ships.  Shop was very crowded. The manager of the food service (he wear suspenders) was very rude, abrasive litteraly snagged a plate out of my hand  he took plates that we were still eating off of and just took it away.

We were suposed to get a 50.00 on board credit but never recieved it.

Bought a painting at acution and when we went to pay for it we were treated like we wasnt good enough to deal with. We left and went 3 more times only to find it closed. We won a free painting also and never recived. So We ended up with no paintings. The price of tip is outrageous didnt use him 2 times, changed towls and made bed 15 min work and we had to pay 91.00 each.

Service was great. Other then that all staff was nice

Dutch 3901, Carnival don't hold you to the $91.00. If you have a legit complaint they will refund it. as the person above, I have never been treated rudely on any of the Carnival Cruise Lines. Some people sometimes believe they are in title to more. Cruises are supposed to be a break from the normal things in life, but some people bring their rudeness with them and cause a reaction they don't like.

For those people that work 14-15 hrs. a day I'd say they earn every tip they get plus more. I have been on four cruises and have never been treated rudely by anyone working on a ship because they do not teach them that and they do not tolerate that. I find it hard to believe that someone was rude that worked on the ship

Yes Dutch 3901 that's pretty cheesy to not tip. A lot of service people work really hard for their tips. Please reconsider next time you cruise.

Gratuities are NOT just for the MDR and your cabin steward. They are for the Lido food servers and other crew who make your stay enjoyable. If your bed was made and towels replaced, you got the service requested. Once they finish "cabin duty" they move on to their other duties. DON'T punish them by removing gratuities.

People in the service industry have bad days the same as everyone else. These people aren't just going to work & then home after a bad day. They are on that ship away from their families day in & day out. You never know what is going on with someone personal life . I find it's hard for someone to be rude or upset if you're kind to them. Sometimes that's easier said than done. But I totally agree with sassy 1969, relax & enjoy.

We went on the freedom in sept last year & loved the ship ... it's what you make of it ... we were on the Magic the year before ... loved the magic ... each boat has its own personality ... people need to learn to relax & have a little fun on vacation

Were you surprised at the size of the ship? Maybe a little research before you purchased the cruise...It's a Fantasy Class ship. You tolerated the poor treatment at dinner by not finding his boss and reporting the problem. You didn't have to pay the gratuities. Guest services would take them off just by you asking. I do it every cruise. Don't you think It's better to handle issues immediately rather than just coming home and telling everyone how bad things were?
