Aside from a little confusion outside the ship terminal in Puerto Rico, once inside it was flawless and effortless.e
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We loved every waiter and the food was good. I don't think I'd ever rate Carnival food amazing, but it was tasty and came out quickly. Our waiter made our experience quite pleasant.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We really didn't do any onboard activities. There were so many island stops, we were not really on the ship during the day.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to a comedy show and the comedian was amazing! His comedy was truly perfect in timing and wasn't too raunchy but was just perfect.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiters were amazing. Can't say as much for our cabin steward, we never saw him, and aside from having no towels and always having to search for him, and a couple of issues with our room (safe stopped working, ac quit in the night, and bathroom door being stuck) the room was fine.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
I'm giving this 4 stars since this class of ship never have enough outside seating for NON SMOKERS! I'm talking a quiet place to go to to sit and enjoy the sun away from the noise of the pool area.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our cabin was E73. It was an "ocean view" room and the room in itself was fine aside from having issues with our safe which stopped working, and the AC quitting in the middle of the night, and bathroom door being stuck, our room was a normal ocean view room. The only other problem was it was a room for disabled, and there was a bench in the shower which kept falling down and scaring us to death due to the noise.
San Juan is lovely, and the people are amazing. They've been through a lot (e.g. government corruption, earthquakes, power outages), and still keep going.
Suffice it to say, St. Maarten was not my favorite stop. We were held captive on an excursion to see both the Dutch & French sides of the island. I understand they are still working to recover from 2 major hurricanes, but the island truly looked like a dump after 3 years.
Loved this little island and would go back to stay in a heartbeat. Don't do any excursions, but go outside and just ask a taxi driver to take you around the island! These people live there and love their island and you'll see things no excursion will show you (like a bakery!!!).... we ask our taxi driver for a island bakery to get the full flavor of St. Kitts and he delivered! We were dropped back off to the ship in plenty of time to enjoy some down time on the ship.
Always a favorite (I visited this island years ago and stayed for a week). We just got into a taxi and asked to be taken to a nice beach. Although the beach was beautiful, it was crowded. We wanted to do a "Swim with the Turtle" boat ride and paid 10.00 to do this, but unfortunately, there was a group (and I will say it... From our ship) who were so awful and unruly I decided to not go on that boat with them... It was a good call.... A couple with 2 kids came back from that same boat ride and was talking about how awful this group was. I had a feeling and went with my intuition.
