Review summary

Overall cruise was good. LOVED the ports, except St. Lucia. The room situation and how it was handled as left me admittedly a little irritated. Not sure I'll sail with Carnival again. Our first experience with them was awesome. This one... not so much.

Ship was pretty well kept. The layout of this ship is a little closed off and boxy compared to others. Great for those looking for a smaller ship to sail on.

DO NOT BOOK THIS ROOM! This room is next to the galley. There are steam pipes running underneath the floor and through the walls. This was a 7 night vacation for two adults and 3 kids with a maximum of three hours of sleep per night due to the clanking and banging of these pipes. Awful, awful, awful experience. Not a bad ship but a really BAD room. Ship was at capacity - no available rooms to move us to until lo and behold a room became vacant on deck 4. We were offered up a room that someone had vomited in. We're not talking about a simple mess in the bathroom. The carpet was saturated with massive amount of vomit. The carpet was still drying from being cleaned. The people in the stateroom next door let us know this was from someone that had gotten off the boat the day of embarkation (2 days prior). Housekeeping had been cleaning the room for two days and they were unable to get rid of the smell BUT thought it would be fine to put a family in this vomit infested room. We were offered a credit of $300, a free excursion and a pick from the steakhouse menu for our sleepless nights. That just didn't cut it Carnival. Not even close. I'm not sure that's an even swap for nights spent trying to sleep in the library because we couldn't sleep in our own room. We didn't want the stuff you kept throwing at us. We wanted a new room. Even two small rooms. Split us up and give us a room where we can at least SLEEP! Super disappointing.

The port is terrible in terms of harassment by the locals for taxi rides and excursions. We were told not to go past the market or we'd get robbed. The locals wouldn't let up to the point my kids were scared and we got back on the boat. There's got to be other options, Carnival. I'd eliminate this stop and pick somewhere else worthwhile.

I can relate. I stayed in M265 on this same ship. That is all I ever heard of the middle of the night. Clanking of pipes and chains. Sorry you had this experience. I could not imagine going through it with small children.
