Review summary

St .Lucia was beautiful, as was Barbados. Would love to return to both places again.  Really enjoyed the late departure time because it gave us time to explore Puerto Rico for almost 2 days, including El Yunque and the forts in Old San Juan.  The parts that I did not care for included the age and cleanliness of the ship.  Very dated looking, and various areas had unpleasant smells, including sewage and cigarette smoke.  Food was mediocre on many days, and cleanliness of buffet areas (seating areas in and outside) was really poor.  Ship seemed to be understaffed.  Heard many staff expressing how tired they were, complaining about lack of breaks.  Dining room staff was very friendly.  Casino staff was 50/50, and some were very sloppy with their dealing abilities.  Several dealers never spoke or made eye contact, and if they did, it was obligatory at best.  Ship seriously lacked activities. Comedians were excellent all around (all 4 were absolutely hilarious!)  STOP LETTING PEOPLE SMOKE IN THE CASINO or provide them with a closed room.  It's just gross to be forced to walk through that.

Our room steward was very friendly and nice. He taught me some Indonesian by my request, and it was nice greeting him throughout the cruise in his language. Always had a great smile on his face.

Ship tip

Bring a waterproof camera. I always forget and I'm always sorry that I do. Bring an air freshener for your room. Bring a poncho for instant rainstorms. Suck it up and buy a belly bag for the entirely hands free safety of carrying wallets, etc.
