Review summary

Great accommodations, awesome food, wonderful service and the places we went were amazing!! The onboard activities were lots of fun-they have everything from a water slide to jacuzzis, a club, comedy shows, trivia and more.  The casino was lots of fun as well-a fun place to go on the day at sea.  Carnival really accommodates well-we were especially well treated when our cabin flooded.  We got a free upgrade from an interior to an Oceanview room-woo hoo!! Loved this trip and would definitely go again-great deal!

We had some flooding in our first cabin (interior) so we were upgraded halfway through the cruise to a new Oceanview, which was wonderful. Oh, and we got about $200 in onboard credit for our trouble-awesome service!!

Ship tip

Pack light so that the initial boarding and final disembarkation goes more smoothly. Staff tips will be totaled at the end of your trip so be prepared for additional charges (~$100 p/person). Also, you will be charged gratuity for dinner service daily, so eat in the nice dining room-it's delish!

This would be a green happy face if not for one thing. Although in general the people were beautiful and the place was gorgeous, be warned-you will see monkeys that are trained to take pictures with people and for the most part they are very well taken care of, but I did see one handler that was mentally unstable and he was physically abusing the poor little baby monkey he kept tied up, making her scream and try helplessly to get away from him, which utterly broke my heart. If you see him, DO NOT pay him!! He is known by the locals as "Chazzy," a large, heavy set black man who steals tips left on tables by using the monkey and also tries to con tourists by taking pictures before he tells them the price-and he charges double what everyone else does. The other monkey handlers were super cool and very kind to their monkeys, I just had to make this review in hopes that it might possibly help prevent more monkeys from being abused. Thank you for your attention.

If there was a midnight buffet, we missed it on the May 22 cruise.
