We had a wonderful getaway on Carnival Fantasy. This was our third time on this ship. It is definitely one of the smaller, older ships, but is still great. The staff were all very kind and attentive. The activities around the ship were great.

Extremely smooth process. We have left from Mobile twice now and have never had any issues with getting on the boat.

The stage shows were just so-so. We didn’t really enjoy them as the singers weren’t great and we just didn’t follow along with the story line very well. It wasn’t terrible, but it just wasn’t great. The DJ was awesome though and we always enjoyed whoever was singing in the atrium as we were going to supper each evening.

Fantasy is definitely one of the older boats, but is still a wonderful boat to be on. Everything was clean and easy to get to. Very easy to get around the ship.
We did an excursion to passion island and really enjoyed it. This was our second time going there and it was just as great this time. Buffet lunch included, open bar (if that is your thing), and a beautiful beach! The boat ride takes about 45 minutes each way and then you are on the island for about 3 hours.
We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites (Saraland, AL) the night before our cruise and paid an extra $50 (on top of the room rate) to leave our car parked at the hotel for the week and they shuttled us to and from the port. It was about a 15-20 minute drive. Well worth it if you need a place to stay the night before the cruise anyway as it cost over $90 to park at the port.
We went on a shore excursion to the Mayapan ruins and got to swim in a Cenote. Our tour guides Mario and Michelle were great and the whole day was enjoyable. Lunch was included after we swam in the Cenote and it was wonderful. There is about an hour and a half bus ride there and back, but it doesn’t feel so long and the bus was really nice that we rode in.
We had a delay in getting off the boat due to some weather issues but they kept us updated and allowed us to stay in our rooms longer than they would have on any other disembarkation morning. They kept the buffets open longer and tried to make it an enjoyable morning still. Once we got off the boat, it was extremely easy to get our luggage and get out the door.
