I am the only one in the family who had cruised before this cruise. My entire family is now addicted to cruising and wants to know when they can go again!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was a very smooth process. We did have Faster to the Fun.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
MDR and Guy's Burger was yummy. The kids enjoyed the endless availability of ice cream. Buffet was okay according to husband. I personally did not eat it. Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham was a very fun experience (even for my 18 yr)!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Entire family loved Karaoke! 18 yr old loved the pool area and the Electricity Club.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment was good. I personally did not enjoy the Country Roads show. Personally loved the 80s and 90s trivia party/singalong.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
This cruise had many children aboard. Board games, video games, and crafts were enjoyed in Circle C. My child's favorite activity was Around the World. The children were sent out to find staff members for numerous different countries. The Towel Theater was also very much enjoyed.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The new cruise director Paully made the cruise. He is very energetic. Joseph in Celebration MDR was awesome! Art, our room steward, was also great. I had asked for ice to be placed in my room in the morning and for the room to be cleaned at night. He ended up cleaning both morning and night!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Carnival Fantasy is the oldest ship in Carnival's fleet. For the ship being 29 years old, it is in excellent condition. Yes, there is rust in places, but that is what occurs to anything metal put into salt water.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
U197 is an oceanview. This cabin was set up to fit 5 people in it. Yes, it was a little small, but I knew going in that was the case. When this cabin is set for five, you will have two pull downs, 1 trundle, and either two twins or one king.
Ship tip
Carnival Fantasy is a smaller ship which means that it tends to be more rocky. We all took a half of Bonine starting two nights before the trip and continued throughout. No one experienced sea sickness.
Everyone in our family loved Cozumel and wished we had more time to explore. We did the Catamaran Sail, Snorkel, and Beach offered through Carnival. Then had enough time left to shop a little.
