Review summary

It SUCKED! For the money I paid out I will take my cruise money to ROYAL. Oh and their vacation Guarantee is a JOKE! False advertisement. They should be ashamed to take people's money and then not provide the promised service. The Captain is a joke. We could have made it to the port we paid for. He gives a whole new meaning to HOSTAGE at your expense.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
didn't really go anywhere but balcony

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Steward was the BEST!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
the ship mates were excellent in keeping the ship clean at all times around all these people.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It was ok. It was not what we were promised. It did NOT have adjoining rooms as the sales lady told us.

Ship tip

DON'T unless you want to pay out $5000 - $6000 and NOT be given the option to get off the boat or be taken somewhere you know nothing about. We felt like hostages.

Ports of call

Mobile, Alabama

4 out of 5
I loved the way they decorated for Mardi Gras

Cozumel, Mexico Did not visit port

Wasn't given the opportunity to visit this port that we PAID to see.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
they shut down all the elevators but 1 on the ship and told people to go to the 9th floor only to turn around after everyone was on the 9th to tell them all to now go to the 7th floor. RIDICULOUS

Did you book directly through the Carnival or did you use a travel agency? Just curious as I have booked this Itinerary for 6 people and it didn’t cost more than $4000 to include the prepaid gratuities. Also, I know it sucks to miss a port, but the travel contact says that there is no guarantee of making a port. Captain has to think of the safety of the passengers, his crew, and the ship when he makes a decision. It is not a decision they take lightly, and to second guess him is your right, but you don’t have all of the information he has at the time he has to make that call.

Also, do you have a degree and or experience in nautical operations? Wonder how you knew better than the captain.

Why a 4 star rating if it was so bad? If you missed a port due to weather or other issues, that does happen and is mentioned in the forms everyone must agree to before boarding. If a specific port is of importance, I recommend getting a good travel insurance policy that compensates you for a missed port or itinerary change. Nationwide has a policy that covers this.
