If you haven't gone on Carnival before, don't judge Carnival by this ship. It's not one of the best. Going on another cruise in February with the Breeze, I will see if it was just the ship that was bad or is Carnival actually going downhill
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very good for the embarkation
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The staff aren't like other Carnival cruises I have been on. The food flavors have gone down drastically. The service was probably the worse I have ever experienced with Carnival. They really need to step up.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Plenty to do, but the seas were a little too rough for me and I wasn't feeling up to doing much
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Comedian late show was better rated than the PG rated show. Other entertainment was just ok, but nothing to write home about
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Not the best I have ever had with Carnival. Our room steward was ok. Our past ones were amazing and actually got tipped extra.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship really needs to be overhauled. It's an older ship and is showing it's wear and tear. The stabilizers aren't as good as the new ones. Not a good impression if someone is taking their first cruise with Carnival. This was my 9th or 10th, I think
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was roomy enough for 3 adults. I prefer a balcony, but the other 2 I traveled with wanted the inside
Ship tip
Bring motion sickness medication. Stabilizers on this ship aren't the best. Guys Burgers are pretty darn good
The port is in the middle of a shipping channel and ship yard so not the most attractive area in the world. There are a few things to do while there though
We were on the same cruise as you. The first two days were really rough, keeping my husband sick and us in our room for the majority of the trip to Cozumel. Won't go on the Fantasy again but already booked on Carnival Liberty in November.
