Review summary

We took this cruise out of Charleston because we got married in Myrtle Beach so it was only an hour drive to the ship.  Overall we had a great time, however, there were two "at sea" days and that was really one too many.  The ship isn't big enough and doesn't have enough amenities to spend two days entirely on the ship.  We're also not really fans of Nassau, so we essentially spent 2 1/2 days on the ship as we re-boarded the ship pretty early the day we were at Nassau.

The ship also goes really fast as compared to other cruises we've taken so that made us a little sea sick the first day.  Have NEVER been sea sick before and we have a pontoon boat so we're always on the water.  Since it leaves from Charleston instead of Miami, it has to get to the Bahamas quickly and I guess that's why it goes so much faster?

We had a porthole room and usually stay in an interior room.  I won't ever stay in an interior room again, the port hole was def nicer and roomier!

Their private island is a lot more "happening" than Norwegian Cruise Lines private island.  I'd def recommend it if you have a group or a younger crowd.  However, Norwegian Cruise Lines private island has an "adults only" beach which I really like too.

So overall we had a great time and would def cruise with Carnival again but prob a newer/more expensive ship if we're going to have "sea days"!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Only dined at fancy restaurant twice - it was ok - preferred the "wok"

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not enough to keep you busy for two sea days

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Adult comedian too late - we're only 46 but didn't want to wait til 11:30 pm to see a show.

Children's Programs

we didn't take kids so no idea

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Steward was really great - remembered our names from the start.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It's an older ship. Really clean but a little dated.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Best/roomiest cabin we've stayed in so far

Ship tip

We sat at the front of the ship to dine outside. Otherwise you had to be by the pool to eat outside. We didn't discover this until the 3rd day.

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

3 out of 5
Confusing how to get to the port. Horrible signage

Little Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Music, huge tiki bar, buckets of beer lol - we didn't snorkel but alot of people did amongst other water sports

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
We ate at Sharkey's and went to Senior Frogs and shopped - then reboarded the ship
