Review summary

We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing week at sea. This cruise certainly fit the bill. While there were many activities provided, we chose to spend our time relaxing. We spent much of our time sitting outside and enjoying the sounds of the ocean. When we did want to do something else, there were plenty of options! There were shops to visit, clubs and bars, and of course there was the casino! I especially enjoyed picking up the daily crossword and sudoku puzzles at various locations throughout the ship. Other activities available were table tennis, miniature golf, an exercise room and walking/jogging track. There was also a giant chessboard located on the stage beside the pool. There was also an adults-only area at the rear of the ship. Kids on the ship thoroughly enjoyed the waterworks area which included a large tunnel slide and also two side-by-side waterslides.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
A wide variety of foods were available. The desserts were magnificent! We had a late dining time scheduled, but were able to go to the casual restaurant and eat earlier if we wanted. The foods served there for dinner were usually the same as in the formal dining room.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows that we saw were very good. We did not choose to participate in the other scheduled activities.

Service and Staff

Everyone was awesome!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The Fantasy is one of the older ships; however, it is well-kept and in great condition. The crew is fabulous! Our stateroom steward met our needs before we even realized them.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our stateroom exceeded our expectations! We chose our location ahead of time and were located next to the forward elevators.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

Lots of shopping available for different price ranges! We also did the beach day at Atlantis, but didn't get out to the beach. We spent our time exploring the resort amenities. The aquairum facilities are incredible!
Don't Miss: visiting Atlantis resort...you have to see it to believe it!

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
I recommend purchasing the snorkeling equipment from the excursion desk before going to the island if you don't already have some. They only charge $5 for it and there is plenty of space for snorkeling! That is probably my biggest regret! There were plenty of other excursions available for $$, i.e. parasailing, horseback riding, etc.
Don't Miss: just relaxing on the beach

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Very pretty port area, good variety of shops available including a Margaritaville restaurant with a swim-up bar. We did the Snuba excursion which was EXCELLENT!!! We highly recommend the snuba!!
Don't Miss: Snuba!!!

Pros: really laid back, variety of food options, shore excursions, debarkation procedure

Cons: not as much deck space for lounge chairs, difficult to find an unoccupied chair many times

Recommends Carnival Fantasy? Yes!
